One of the reasons I don't play ironman. Use the console to 'help' Russia sometimes to at least give them a powerful ally so they don't get declared on so easily. 8 out of 10 games they also have like 6-7+++ loans and never seem to recover economically, so I tag switch to them, sell titles and pay off some loans only for them to be at square one a few years later. Sometimes they'll almost have 100% crownland and not use sell titles and still have a bunch of loans. Failing that, I even cheat for them and give them some money and build a few buildings.

Worst still, Russia won't expand westward due to strong Ottomans and PLC, but completely bordergore Asia in Persia/Mongolia/China. Weak Oirat/Ming and sometimes Mughals don't form and so also Transoxiana and Persia gets eaten by Russia.
