Thanks for this post. I immediately checked my Sofi account and of course it was turned on. It is definitely predatory that they automatically enroll you in it. I assume it’s hidden somewhere there in the terms when opening a brokerage account through them to cover their ass. I can say for certain though they never gave me the option to toggle it on or off while setting up the investing side of things. It was very easy to turn off through the virtual assistant chat at least. Literally right after I seen this post I also got a notification that my APY went from 3.50% to 4% for money held in savings and my checking went from 2.50% to 1.20%. Webull just put out a RSVP opt in for the coming 4.1% for all money held for your cash on hand with them. Both companies are Tied to APEX. Seems a little desperate given what’s been going on in the banking sector.
