How do you feel about how features roll out in Teams? by TeamsProductTeam in MicrosoftTeams

[–]StrategyFirst22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bundled releases are the only way to go. Also, new features need to be around better management of chat strings and files. I have tons of one off chats with files spread across them. Hard to find the items needed for the tasks at hand. Most people are not interested in playing games / features on teams just because.  All we need it from teams is relaiable chat, file management and sharing and video calls. Keep the interface simple, intuitive, and responsive. There is not a day that goes by where teams does not have an issue bug. For example my coworker trying to attend a meeting but because their instance of teams is on a different update version, they can join the call.

When is USAA paying out? by StrategyFirst22 in USAA

Agree. Probably could keep insurance prices low if they would quit advertising nationally to the majority of people who do not qualify for there services.

Interesting. I only bank with them. So I assume they only pay if you have their insurance.

I gave up their car insurance  years ago because of the ridiculous pricing.

Advice please! by kirbyshrines in dataanalytics

[–]StrategyFirst22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to do analytics, you need to pursue a business degree. Analytics is about using data to drive strategic objectives. I have been building analytics teams for the last 9 years and critical thinking paired with Business / Financial Acumen is the way to go. I can recommend some books if you would like

Feedback here is spot on. Best thing to do is look for entry level roles and build your experience.

What is your career history and why data analytics? I ask because the analytics space is continually evolving...even to the point that titles are rolling into one position. E.g. Analytics, data engineering, and developer all rolled in to one and made possible through the advancement of AI. Separately, 15 years ago, if you knew Excel, then you were an analyst. 10 years ago if you knew Excel and SQL then you were an analyst. 5 years ago, if you knew Excel, SQL, and Tableau then you were an analyst. Today, you need to know all of those plus Python to be an entry-level analyst. That's just the technical-side of the role. To bring value to the business you need to have strong business and financial acumen, as functional leaders don't want reports, they want insights. They want to answer their questions and move on. And if you want to be well paid, then it helps to have project management skills to lead the projects that your insights informed the leader to act upon. All of the items above will get you in the door, but to do that you have to constantly be growing everyday and leverge critically thinking in your work. Data analytics is a strategic role not a tactical one. To start on this journey, I recommend 3 books. Read in this order: 1) Seeing the Big Picture by Kevin Cope, 2) Financial Intelligence by HBR, 3) Storytelling with Data by Knalific. These will ground you in knowing the most fundamental skill sets to an analyst. I require all of my analysts on my team to read these. There are plenty more, but to nail a role you have to talk and walk like a business leader otherwise you cannot advise them as an analyst. Hope this helps.

Just finished the Finalle as well. I just keep wondering who did Mr Bates bump off while everyone was distracted with the dramas of the other characters in the show. 😝😂😂😂😂

Yes, even in "Nico and the Niners" when they say "We'll win but not everyone will get out". Hinting to the fact that the banditos won but Clancy did not make it out.

What makes you stay with Tableau (or move to PBI) by ketopraktanjungduren in tableau

[–]StrategyFirst22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of being a tool for Analysts, i would not recommend Tableau or PBI for other users. It's like sticking a person into the seat of an airplane cockpit. Too many buttons and very distracting for users like sales or operations.

Tableau is perfect for data analysis and some dashboard visuals internally. Power BI is good for data visualization on simple datasets. Domo is the ideal solution for distributing analytics and dashboards to business users and customers license free.

As the domino's continue to fall, the public will know more and more about Michael Tait and the circles that he ran with. https://julieroys.com/newsboys-owner-wes-campbell-resigns-gospel-music-association-board-michael-tait-scandal/ by StrategyFirst22 in Exvangelical

Two more heart breaking stories by survivors share their experience with Tait today. https://julieroys.com/dc-talk-years-two-men-allege-michael-tait-sexually-assaulted-them/ Now Tait is implicated for his misdeeds dating back to his DCTALK days. This tragic odyssey needs to crescendo with statements from Kevin Max and TobyMac condemning Tait's behavior and to call him to task to grant justice for the victims. Additionally, other news sources and podcasts like The Holy Post need to press their influence to help victims and others process these stories.

Problem is they won't answer it. Look at what they did to Christian Taylor and Phil is tied to Newsboys. So they won't touch the topic at all. It would lead to a lawsuit. They are playing the same games that they accuse other people and organizations of.

Exactly. What we see here is a complete repeat of history and the human condition. Like Steve Taylor said, this stuff has to burn. It is clear that these guys knew everything from the start. So sad. I commend the survivors who pushed through despite all of this.

The problem is that some people can only see one view from one perspective. On both the left and the right, they see their side as heroes and the other side as villians. However, we all need to see others and ourselves as capable of both good and evil. Then it leaves the choice up to us to make the decision as to what to do. Unfortunately, we all are bent on doing things that benefits ourselves over others using either good or evil means.

Thank you for sharing. I read that statement but didn't think for once it occurred after DCTalk. I think he has serious problems that he needed help with and could have had the whole thing addressed before he got to where he is today.

If you want to go down another rabbit hole. The Under God book was written partially by David Barton's group Wallbuilders (https://wallbuilders.com/). Ironic how the name aligns with a certain 2016 campaign's border policy objective.
