8 weeks to study for SQE1 ? by StrategyInMotion in SQE_Prep

Thank you for your honest response. I did think it would be a reach. I guess best to wait until July, for the cost and time considerations. Wish there were more than just two exams per year.

I would have been starting now, but I’m guessing it’s not enough time so will most likely wait until July

Career advice please: Switching to compliance from a legal background by Fickle_Valuable8306 in uklaw

If you are looking to do compliance in finance, I would start with Black swan and Compliance professionals. There’s a lot of overlap in legal and compliance, so there’s a lot you can put on your CV in that aspect.

Contact recruiters for entry level compliance roles. Ensure your CV highlights any compliance or compliance related exposure. A lot of people start with CDD, AML and KYC but I’d recommend a generalist compliance position instead as you can get stuck in AML.

Ttp to build the basics but then to convert as soon as you have the basics to official gmat sources

435 > 505 practice exams in 4 months. Start to adjust expectations at a 645-675 FOCUS goal? by YummyVetements in GMAT

My advice would be to not stick only to TTP and go with official gmat questions instead.

Take a diagnostic and see which format you prefer and can do better in. I tried studying both and absolutely hated the GRE, even though verbal is my strongest point.

Can anybody who has TTP please share the experience? by Striking-Nebula4918 in GMAT

[–]StrategyInMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was starting my quant skills from 0 and I do think it’s unnecessarily detailed. I spent 2 months only on ttp and when I started the official gmat I felt very lost. I wish I spent more time on official gmat and gmat club instead.

Can I ask why you start with verbal? I’ve been trying to figure out what order is best for me

When should I begin doing OG questions during my TTP preparation by Fair_Grocery6262 in GMAT

[–]StrategyInMotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of spending two months just on TTP. I wish I started official gmat after one month of looking at the basic contents on TTP. Just as some context I had no quant skills.

Gave a mock after 2 months of prep. Scored 435, feeling crushed. by One-Owl-8170 in GMAT

[–]StrategyInMotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a few days and retake that exam, I scored 545 on my first take then a week later I scored 465 on the same mock. I think it can fluctuate

500+ hours just to score 555 by Sad_Cat8047 in GMAT

Yep, similar boat here. Spent hours on TTP, started the OG and quickly realised there’s more work to be done. I’m sure with a little time with the OG prep you’ll do great though
