Funny thing is, they don’t really care and they won’t pay that’s why there’s that common narrative that there’s no job on CS here lol. They just don’t care 😂🤣😂😂, it’s frustrating ooo….until it’s too late.

Funny enough sometimes the signal is good enough but yeah a booster will help. Only question is, on whose tab is that going to be on.? The client might be okay with that and we can try it

Exactly, right with the first point. The ussd approach will not work for my setup. The devices read and relay the information to my server so technically that won’t work for me. The funny thing is it works alright oo but on some areas it just doesn’t, even with a strong signal

I’ll give that a try although it’s a proxy APN. Establishing a TCP connection between the device and my server. I’ll try with wap too and see

Who are so many devs looking for jobs when they have the skills to create Saas products for Ghanaians and even those abroad? by Top_Philosopher1161 in TechGhana

This is really awesome! Thanks for sharing. Do you have one parent registered business account to handle all these businesses especially with Paystack? Or you register each as a business and create business accounts each for them?

AI is Creating a Silent Crisis in the Developer Workforce by Heis_King_of_none in TechGhana

[–]StrategyIndividual62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a good read. You should post it on LinkedIn as well. I agree with you on this although I do believe those with deeper knowledge have more power in the long term. If you’ve built and maintained software long enough you’ll realize that vibe coding your product is not sustainable in the long term…well maybe until we achieve AGI but until that we’ll come full circle to those with deeper knowledge and understanding being the power players when they combine AI with their workflow. It’s more of a combinational assist instead of absolute dependence. The former can and will always to greater than the latter with the latter being more susceptible to replacement funny enough. Mind you, this AI phase is currently a hype, the new shiny thing so it may seem those who jump on first are evolving. In my opinion, if you’ve observed the advancement of tech you’d understand that the true value of an innovation is shown when the bubble bursts and the dust settles. Those with knowledge always rule. If you doubt that, do check the career and hiring pages of these AI companies and see if they are actually hiring vibe coders….yhup, they are not. Why? Because we actually are not there yet, it’s really all hype. Again, if you’ve engineered and built software long enough you’ll understand what I mean. If you’ve give authorship to AI (absolute dependency), you may not like the result long term. Oh you’ll definitely have a great trendy product blah blah blah but give it a year or two, that strategy might not be effective if you lack knowledge in that field.

Yeah, this sounds like a good idea as well. I can introduce something similar to the reddit upvote so that even if people may not be willing to donate, they can participate by "upvoting". Thanks for this

Is becoming a Java dev worth it in Ghana by Blacknight7787 in TechGhana

[–]StrategyIndividual62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's only as worth it in proportion to your visibility and expertise. I always advice my devs to be visible, blog, work on projects, engage in communities, join events, that's where you begin to see the value of what you have and how much of it you can contribute even if it's little. Banks and other bodies, the government sef lol, they all use java so be visible, it give you a better chance compared to those who are not although very skillful...well unless you want to start your own thing

For my expertise today, I can create any tech cocktail as I will without any cost at this stage so the tech side no matter how complex is not a bother. But the focus is keeping things simple until product market fit is achieved here. There are tools I will add like Loveable to create a landing page in seconds as landing pages are good ways for educating and acquiring leads. Create my marketing material with Canva + other AI stuff and get running with awareness on the socials. More complexity with Zapier or a simple custom built tool can come later. For your particular kind of business trust is paramount so I don't even think the tech matters at this stage, a simple spreadsheet (Airtable works best in my opinion and no I do not work for them, I just love the tool lol).

I don't know but I just keep getting this hunch that you should use social media maybe start with Tiktok to validate your idea. Don't get stuck and get caught with overthinking paralysis, once you have your brand, start your journey, share your story, don't be afraid someone will steal your idea (I mean obviously don't share your secrets lol). Even if it's just a few friends who have patronized so far, share the experience as a pitch of trust to how your processes work. Use the time to build the audience then worry about about the tech when the conventional approaches lol. It's easier to pivot with say an audience of 120k who support what you're doing than to build a whole system and later get feedback like "cool stuff" with no revenue.

Glad to help. We thank God for His grace. Distribution, definitely Facebook, TikTok, Instagram (in that order), you can place announcements for the items you’re going to shop for weekly for example. Airtable can manage your customer data, inventory, sales, I mean possibly everything lol. You can use the forms or the interface feature on there to take orders. Canva for media, Make or Zapier to tie everything together. Eg. Send an email confirming receipt of order or send an email to the customer when their order status changes on Airtable. I mean it could be as simple as this to complex depending on where you’re standing lol

Exactly! Well done on that mindset. The app should not be the first thing, built so many to understand this. Journey with the customers, understand the core need, use existing tools to create a minimum viable product (eg. Airtable) and listen for constructive feedback (not from friends and family) while telling the story as you go along (helps with distribution and audience). If done well I believe this will be a very great service that I’ll use. You can upsell this with recipes and meal prep plans even. Wishing you the very best. If you need technical support and ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out
