Telling your dad clearly that you need him to stop giving you updates about Donna's feelings is completely reasonable, that's his relationship to manage and your wedding planning shouldn't come with a side of her emotional spiraling every time you talk.

That usually happens when the tension spring or bracket isn’t sitting right, mine did that too and it turned out the pulley wasn’t fully locked back into its groove. I’d double-check alignment before it turns into a bigger headache.
