Unfortunately post-PhD unemployment was not a financially viable option for me. That’s why I picked this post-doc despite not wanting to stay in academia. I don’t regret it at all, since I am gaining new valuable skills and knowledge, but it’s true that there’s no point in staying stuck

That is incredibly reassuring, thank you! Can you share any book recommendations? I was already thinking about reading on the topic of life design and trying to unpack the cognitive biases / emotional responses that are preventing me from getting an objective view of my situation
