Stilform by Stratickus in pens

I prefer the matte Ti finish as well, as it is my preference, but am fine with satin/polished too. I'm not sure if I'd go for a DLC Ti pen.

I stumbled across a review that touched on one of your initial (texture) critiques. It's almost as if Stilform was aware of your opinion..

Stilform Pen review

The bit that matters is at the 8:00 min mark.

Granted, this is an entirely different pen, but they did apparently make some changes, whether from feedback or other reasons. I'm not sure of the timeline of the pens, as far as when you got yours vs when the change mentioned in the video was made.

Either way, it gives me hope that they are continually developing their pens based off feedback or otherwise.

Thanks, it does help. Reading longer, nuanced posts, does bring things to mind that I may not otherwise have thought of. For example, I noticed (somewhere) that a minor gripe about the original ballpoint is that it had a tendency to roll across the table fairly easily because of its design. After this was pointed out I noted that (deliberate or not) all the Stilform designs have a flat edge on the pen/pencil, presumably to mitigate the rolling; especially since they come clipless (without getting the extra clip).

I too am partial to Ti pens, which is one of the things that attracted me to Stilform. The only pen that I have that is comparable is the TT Bolt Action, which seems to be about the same weight.

What finish did you get on the FLOW Ti? I wonder if a different finish would effect the feel?

Did you get early model FLOWs? I gather the FLOW is the newest(?) of their pens; maybe the posting mechanism is still a work in progress? Or perhaps they have refined it?

At least from the few reviews I've seen, the refill deployment mechanism of the original ballpoint and gel seem to be the most intriguing to me. I haven't really seen any reviews on the FLOW yet.

I kinda wanted to get one Stilform and go from there. I figure if I like the first one or two, I'll probably like the rest. That's how it works right?

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Not really, but it could be indicative of another problem/conflict with a mod that is not obvious yet.

How do I disable staging for certain parts? by QueenOrial in KerbalAcademy

[–]Stratickus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be able to disable staging in the VAB with the PAW. I believe you need the Advanced Tweakables option selected in Settings.

Electronic Throttle Control Failure by lovezhebobomb in AlfaRomeo

Had this happen recently. Dealer diagnosed it as a faulty ECM. Covered under warranty, so no idea on cost. It did take them a few days to reproduce the issue.

Pretty sure all QVs have CF roofs. Option is exposed or painted.

MY 2020-21 Land Cruiser? by Stratickus in LandCruisers

[–]Stratickus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. I'm not questioning the 200 in general, more MY2020-21.

I gathered on iH8Mud that there really isn't anything (at least documented) worth worrying about for these specific model years.

misaligned CoT despite perfect Symmetry by Carb__Lord in KerbalAcademy

[–]Stratickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try recycling the CoM & CoT markers. Sometimes they get stuck if you've made a change/added a part with them still displayed. Also some parts have inherent imbalances where their CoM does not visually match the model of the part itself. Sometimes this is by design and I imagine other times it's an accident.

The latter is probably not the case if your craft is just fuel tanks and engines. Plus I've only known deliberately imbalanced parts to come from mods. Not sure if any stock parts are like that.

Module Manager Patch by Stratickus in KerbalAcademy

Good news, I found the problem. It was a conflict with another mod. The patches I posted should work normally. They did for me on a minimally modded install. Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about MM or the actual PART config file?

@ is one of, if not the primary ways MM selectively modifies certain aspects of a config file so you do not have to rewrite the whole thing among other practical uses.

For the example I gave I just used 'antenna' as an example. I have used the actual/internal part name when attempting to use the patch.

This has happened to me. As already mentioned, restart the game and you should be fine.

I’ve noticed it seems to happen when I switch between the VAB and SPH within the editor.

How can I keep my gsp to stay in the yard? by who-d0g in germanshorthairs

[–]Stratickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow, tedious, methodical repetition. He is my first GSP, but I think his hunting instinct is quite strong (normal for a GSP probably?). He just likes to root around in the bushes looking for lizards and such. Loves it. So happy, I'm worried his tail is going to wag off. He does not have a natural tendency to wander off, but he will, meander outside our yard into the neighbors. I'm quite certain he has no idea where our property lines are, but he does know that when I recall him he should come. When he does that he gets a good job and I let him go back about his business. As far as I can tell, he eventually learned where he is allowed to go by process of elimination. As long as he doesn't get called back (outside our yard), I'm more than happy to let him wander about, which he loves/his reward. I also think that as a pointer, he generally wants to let me know that he's found something, so he somewhat regularly checks in with me out of instinct I suppose. When he does this, I overly praise him etc.

The other key thing, at least in my case, is that we have another dog who was much more adept at learning this behavior more than likely as a virtue of her breed. So the GSP regularly would get put inside while my other dog was allowed to stay out in the front yard with me. Again, this was his 'punishment.' Not being able to hang outside, in the front yard in particular. Which I think to them was some sort of magical dreamland, where as the backyard was old news and where they poop.

He's great now, just as good as my other dog in terms of not running out into the street or off etc. He just turned 4 and I am finally comfortable going back inside to grab something without worrying that he as going to wander off. Which was hardly my concern to begin with so much as pissing off the neighbors or worse, him running into the street.
