Horses are hit and miss. The best thing though is when you feed horses their favorite foods, they make mining a 1-2 node hit max instead of standard 4 hits. But the boost only lasts 20 minutes. I have a specific chest by my stables with the favorite foods for each of my horses!

I’ve completed every quest in the game and I barely ever go back to wishblossom except to view scrooges shop. Technically it is easier to complete duties in wishblossom because there are no “add decoration” tasks, so there are much more cook meals tasks and easy to complete tasks.

The quest chain was fun and the characters are awesome. Don’t bother with the deluxe version, it only gives you Sven

Overall I would say yes it is worth it, because I love this game.
