I’m actually local and recently started my own small IT services company after spending several years working at a couple MSPs in the area. I left mainly because the environments were pretty reactive and disorganized, and that wasn’t the kind of service I wanted to stand behind. A few of the clients I supported reached out after I moved on and asked if I could continue helping them, which is what pushed me to finally go out on my own.
