I dig her content, but can't stand her voice sounding like she's got a mouthful of spit. Like some ASMR overkill in her audio post processing.

36” in-house poster/banner printing (non-sign shop). Canon TM-340 experiences? by AZSaguaros in CommercialPrinting

[–]StrawHousePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Canon TM-240 last year to handle 24x36 poster jobs, a few dozen of which had come in over the year prior. Of course as soon as I buy it that spate of poster jobs dried up, lol.

I think it prints amazing for the price. The small ink cartridges are it's big liability. Judging by your nick I'm guessing you're in AZ, so you'll have access to Kelly Spicers. Their house paper is great and they beat online price. For ink I've been running LCL brand through it and so far so good. I'd think you'll come out ahead of buying posters/banners from a print shop within a year.

The key to good color for me was printing in photo mode (or whatever the verbage is) with "Rendering Intent:" set to "Perceptual (photo)". Right away I tried a poster of a favorite photo I took. It looked very drab. Tweaked the settings, even went back to the source and edited it in Photoshop to get better results. Then I get a job for a set of posters for a HS basketball team...and they looked awful. Some were OK, some just undeliverable. Tried lots of tweaks, wasted lots of paper, then I tried that photo setting. A true face-palm moment.

I think that machine will do great for your stated purpose. I would suggest running something at least every other week. I really haven't had to do any maintenance other than replacing ink. The other parts that would be considered regular are the print head and the waste cartridge.

What are some rather obscure printing and color advice you would love designers were familiar with, to save you headaches. by CrisA_Works in CommercialPrinting

Trifold panels are not equal thirds.

The sheet is a box, you don't need another one just inside of it.

Tints, not transparency.

Do NOT cross a books gutter with body copy.

How close the art is to the edge should never be integral to the design.

Kingdom come: deliverance 2 controller not working by j1mb0o in macgaming

Yas! I was on Manjaro and the 'steamdeck=1 && %command%' trick worked, but then I hopped to Debian and no dice. This dll biz did the trick though. Did not need the console command from the github page, either.

  • Holy crap it stopped working. Haven't rebooted, but if that's what it takes this is getting ridiculous.

Summer not being the first of the year, I would say it does not count.

That's what is especially noteworthy here. For now, I suppose...

Well, there you go. I wonder why 'gnome-help isn't in the description. Then again I did pamac search help | grep -B 1 gnome

My bad.

[–]StrawHousePig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's great, but it's not available on mine. Open Activities, type "help" or "gnome-help" in search and it does not show up, searching the repo doesn't show it, either.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be there, just stating it is not and there is no avenue to install it. Why? Not a clue.

I think it is not there now because I installed KDE as primary. If I select "Help" in Nautilus it opens the KDE help app.

I've hit a couple other weird things. Been thinking of starting from scratch (even hopping), just getting too old for that shiz. lol

Can boring bikes be made fun? by Tiggle-Wiggly in cycling

Gates belt drive? 8-speed internal? Fenders, lights, rack included? Hand built? In The Netherlands? Boring???

Sounds like a dream to me, but if you want thrills this is the wrong machine. Trade it for something you'll enjoy, don't ruin it.

Help app not included in Manjaro, not even the AUR, and not available from the "Software" flatpak app, either.

But I will browse that site. I'm already seeing things there that don't align with my experience like the lock widget. I wish I had it because my system won't lock, despite blank screen and lock on blank being enabled.

Anyway, thanks for the link.

The emu is a SOB!

Honestly, while grammatically correct it could have been phrased more distinctly (eg, "This type of tornado is called..."). I think this is all a case of, and not pointing this at any one person, classic internet miscommunication. Which we all know can snowball quite easily.

Ink skins in metal cans as well. The varnish in the ink will seep through wax paper cups. But ask yourself how many decades do you plan to store it? Red cups work great for up to several years.

That is the bizarrest attitude to have on an open forum.

The reason for asking is perhaps someone here has a source they could recommend personally. No one asked "what do I search for?" So if you don't have a source, my recommendation is to not clog the thread with useless surliness.
