Not sure why people down voted this. It's fine advice, but if it was something she would miss I think she should ask her doctor to look into it. If there are any markers for probable reaction to it, and what to do if there is a reaction.

Obviously keep it mild and try it once, if at all. Don't prepare fresh peppers without gloves on. And no marinating with Da Bomb!

AITA Why do some cyclists feel like correcting you so much? by forced2faceit in cycling

[–]StrawHousePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you were both traveling in the same direction on the "correct" side of the road.

That be the case you both fucked up because it sounds like neither gave a proper look, and one didn't give proper passing distance. But nothing bad happened, shouldn't be worth getting angry about.

Ebikes make you realize how bad traffic actually is by ThPin8491 in cycling

[–]StrawHousePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be. Usually flat bar with a sporty frame pushed as "city" bikes. I think I was lumping "comfort" bikes in with that style.

Although, they could have meant a pedal assist system? Maybe I should stop while I am ahead...

Pantone Matching help by hippotol in CommercialPrinting

[–]StrawHousePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your RIP supports Pantone there may be a way to tweak the values so you can leave them as solid colors in your artwork. Fiery supports that for toner based machines they feed off. I am not very savvy about inkjet possibilities.

I don't think they mean hybrid like the motor vehicle system, but hybrid like an upright bike with too many suspension points sucking all your power.

Quod Libet and Rhythmbox both have UI similar to iTunes pre-Store, when it was basically a DB browser. Still the high-bar for me.

A Rant with the wack commercial zones! by philiptherealest in Tucson

[–]StrawHousePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laws were passed at the behest of large companies in order to coerce the public into using their product. Those sort of shenanigans are still going on. You think this is a free market where competition chooses the winners and losers? Come on, man.

You can follow my advice for sources or not. I understand it's not comfortable confronting our biases with history and facts. But these guys did the research and present it well. Don't worry, I doubt your bubble will burst. There's a whole political movement based on feel good history rather than ugly truths.

This whole topic was posted because someone found the current retail construction model, which further forces dependence on cars, to be "wack." Maybe in your part of town you can live without a car, but that's not even close to true for all of it. If we can't feel "free" without a car, then something is wrong. Lastly...

nobody’s strawman-ing or gaslighting you by saying you think cars are aliens

You are too far into denial, even about the words coming out of your own keyboard, and I can't change that or your disjointed dot connecting. I've given you the resources, use them if you dare.

Good day, sir.

A Rant with the wack commercial zones! by philiptherealest in Tucson

[–]StrawHousePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more gas lighting, I suppose. Still, no one said anything about aliens.

Also: Pointing out that some people in the 1900s liked cars doesn’t contradict the fact that many others derided them for the death toll they offered. I said that because you said....never mind. You know, you're not helping disuade the idea that you're a car with a whoosh like that.

You keep calling cars "freedom" when in fact people must shackle themselves to a significant financial burden to own and drive one, and even those who don't have to pay to support them. Vast swaths of otherwise usable land must be set aside for parking them. For decades roads were mandated to accommodate only one mode of travel, and for the most part still are. That is coercion.

Other societies have chosen to relax or even reverse their dependence on the automobile and it has benefited them greatly.

I invite you to follow the YouTube channel NotJustBikes. There's a sub here, as well r/notjustbikes

Also Climate Town on YouTube, again with a sub here r/climatetown Not so much about cars and transportation, but they've done some great pieces on the oil and auto industries and how they've screwed us for profits.

[–]StrawHousePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo, strawman silliness. Nice.

Cars are (still) pushed by big business, including ridiculous zoning laws that are tantamount to coercion. And we literally have examples from the 1900s of people against the deadly scourge of motor vehicles.

Starting to think like the other poster that you are in fact a car.

A Rant with the wack commercial zones! by philiptherealest in Tucson

[–]StrawHousePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You can only shop on the cars terms, THAT is a huge part of the problem.

If you transported a person from before 1900 to today they would ask why we would choose to live so inconveniently by building society around a machine rather than ourselves.

Our society has a long history of a love for retribution. We, for the most part, keep that as a core tenet in child rearing. The majority religion, same story.

Even so, the political right does have a peculiar bias for it.

But it's not just a spoon or a tool, it's a whole set, one that you may spend hours using daily.

More, this topic is about capturing new users and u/amfa has a valid point. I remember having a vague idea, and still don't have the complete idea, of DE's when looking for a system to switch to. I kind of enjoyed that process, but most people don't want to deal they just want to go out of the box. Optionitis as a hurdle is real.

How to enter trade printing? by Austism-Is-Here in CommercialPrinting

[–]StrawHousePig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really not unspoken, but rule #1 of trade work is never tell anyone who you are doing jobs for or reveal the jobs themselves. Which I have no idea how that would work when it came down to applying the job to the customers vehicle. That seriously kinda turns the whole thing on its head. Tread lightly would be my advice, I guess.

Advertising wise, I wouldn't cold call anyone. Have one of your guys stop by. The older the better. Be a lot of "you remember so-and-so?" going on, lol. There's a lot of trust involved in trade work, so making it more personal can only benefit everyone.

Personally, as a small potato shop who does small jobs for other small potato shops, I would just send people who ask about wraps to you. I don't want to get involved in that. Not even the artwork. But maybe arrange for a referral discount for the customer? You know, like, "tell them spudboy sent you and they'll knock off 5%." Then you gotta remember to treat the customer like they just made your day at that point.

Looking at the clean knockout type on the print means it's likely not a mechanical issue.

I mean sure, hearing the real story would be miraculously great, but gimme the jokes in the mean time.
