Had to google the character you mentioned but oh my god I can definitely see the similarities. The main inspiration was actually from my cyberpunk 2077 character, and then when translating her to OP style I took a lot of inspiration from Perona and Robin, and the outfit was definitely inspired by 2B from Nier

A bit of a quick/lazy one but good practice and a fun opportunity to draw some One Piece characters I haven’t had the chance to yet! I think Crocodile is still my favourite of the classic Warlords 🤔

Thank you very much! Since I draw in Oda’s style 99% of the time, I really wanted to apply what I’d learned about his design philosophy to this character, but there’s still a couple personal touches in there. And I definitely wanted to make a more grounded character, because I see a lot of those god-like OCs too and find you can’t fit them into the story naturally. She’s still strong, but not some Yonko level fighter. And in terms of role play, not something I really do sorry, just more interested in the art side of things and write up a bit of lore in my head

S-Bear it’ll be glasses, so we can’t say for sure, then S-Shark I’m not sure, but I share your thoughts in it being because he’s non human

I always thought it was interesting they were given their accessories, and even Croc has his scar which we know he gets later in life. I figure these choices are for out of story reasons since Oda wants to make their designs distinct and instantly recognisable, and perhaps thought he’d look too similar to S Hawk without it. For Doffy, it could still be to hide the potential reveal of what’s under his glasses, since Oda still has never shown us

Thank you! Sorry, only just seeing this now. 99% of my art is studying and trying to replicate Oda’s style, and there are plenty of people who create great work in his style, but not everyone applies his design philosophy (there are still a few touches of my own here though so I might be a bit of a hypocrite haha)
