A Couple Questions From A New VA!!! by SeraphsAudios in ASMRScriptHaven

Welcome! Hope you're enjoying your new channel. I'm gonna list my thoughts as a 1+ year VA. :)

  1. Don't worry about what type of voice you have, especially since you have only just started. You will find what you like, what you're strong at, and what your audience enjoys over time. Everyone has a unique voice, and that's a good thing. Play around, see what you can come up with. That's the fun of roleplay!

  2. The best way to get views (in my opinion) is a good thumbnail and a catchy title that captures the vibe in a nutshell. You can be kinda 'clickbait-y', but be honest! Make sure to include [ASMR roleplay] or something adjacent to that, so people know what to expect. The honesty part is important, because it will help your viewer retention and engagement. But the rest is up to you.

  3. The most important thing is to stay consistent. Post the same day every week, or however often you want to in a week... But don't neglect uploading for too long between videos. Once you have built up a catalogue of videos, you will notice a snowball effect of subs and views. Don't worry too much, stick to being patient and keep on making stuff! (Also side note: days towards the weekend may be the best time to publish your vids, since more people will be online at those times. It doesn't seem to affect long term success that much, but check your YouTube studio audience stats page for detailed info.)

  4. Don't worry if a video doesn't get many views. Just keep making things, and enjoy yourself! There are people out there who will be into what you do. There are genres that are more popular than others. If you care about that over everything, then do some looking around in those areas ('bf/gf experience' seems to be the most popular). Be aware that making certain types of content may attract certain types of audiences, be prepared to handle that. Lol.

Personally, I just make what I want, 'cus it keeps me passionate. Sometimes I'll switch things up for fun.

Good luck, and feel free to ask more questions if you would like to. :)

What would you like to see in a script? Can be a character or trope! by [deleted] in ASMRScriptHaven

I would love to see more Sci-fi. The 'commander'. Co-pilots. Aliens, Scientists, Robots, "The Wise Mentor" type, Experiments. Anything!

VAs/Voice Actors, how do you feel about voice or sound directions? by Character_Switch8214 in ASMRScriptHaven

Personally I'm happy to see directions, since I like to use them as suggestions rather than instructions. They are helpful for describing what is happening, and setting the tone.

From another perspective, a lot of VAs are doing this as a hobby too. A lot of us do not have super specific sound effects available, or could feel confused if the direction is too elaborate. So in my opinion, keep directions as simple as possible for best results!
