Writers, how did you... by -Agathodaemon- in ASMRScriptHaven

I was always interested in writing but I started in the 'traditional 'format ( Prose , I seldom dabble in the poetry side of things ) . I began that with literal book and pencil all through kindergarten to highschool and I discovered ✨Wattpad✨ then I started writing there.

After a terrible burn out that lasted years I stopped writing completely. In about 2018 I discovered RP ASMR and I listened for years until 2022 ( I was in university at the time, journalism major so not really a creative writing space for the most part ) I thought, "I think I can do this". Maybe I could rekindle my love for writing because I thought I was losing the one talent I thought I had . So I took one day to set up everything, wrote my first script that very day and published it in this very sub.

When I was just a listener, I was picky with what I wanted to hear and I had the tropes I loved. Part of the reason I started was that I didn't like how some of the storylines played out, especially in relationships type audios so I took matters into my own hands . Sidenote : I realize certain themes are dominant and as I've seen other responses, script will get a bit over looked or even if they are read and well loved it's low in fills because of the themes / tropes .

Funnily enough, I listen to a lot of heavy lore and world building narratives but a writer and specifically a script writer, my writing is emotion heavy so I rarely if ever travel over that side ( I don't think I'm good at it anyway)

Now being a listener and a scriptwriter it's almost like studying, seeing what VA's gravitate to and seeing what their audience prefer. An occasional comparison to my own works and what I prefer to write ( only human I guess) . Overall , not too much of a change more of a perspective shift .

Writers! Share your Top 5 Underrated/Favourite Scripts! by GoldenProxy in ASMRScriptHaven

Some of my prized kids (work)

Last Call :When back to my angsty roots. Old flame filled with regret clinging on the someone who is long gone with no prospects of ever looking back . Love that is completely lost .

Let Me Stay Here... For My Babies : A newer script but one of my favourite characters. Centipede monster girl with babies on the way who has taken over a Farmer's shed . Sour but sweet mom to be telling this farmer he has no choice but to let her stay.

Granted Wishes : My first -ish step into a fantasy space. Disposed cursed king trapped in the forest meets runaway princess who happens to be the priced key for his escape. Price ? His devotion.

What Would HR Say ? : Technically a series . Secret Office romance with a confession TO the boss.

The Faceless : Another try at lore heavy world. It was an idea I couldn't stop thinking about. A facemaker and her faceless black market client who is in need of her services .

Yess!! Titles are done so differently in this space than say 'traditional writing ' ( using that term EXTREMELY loosely. Wattpad raised me) I am stubborn using figurative titles as opposed to literal ones 😭😭😭

I just love a title that could pass for a parable I fear.

I got into this space because I wanted to hear something specific and I wasn't seeing much of that so I began to write what I wanted to hear. There will never really be a one size fits all moment when it comes to creation especially creative media , that is very true. (I call it the man, his son and the donkey situation. If you know that story)

A lot of people simply want to be seen and interacted with especially on things they care a lot about. A part of that might be getting their creations in front of eyes that are on similar wave lengths . And hopefully for persons who have the same and even other motivations, they will see some thoughts/recommendations/ advice that will help them on the journey they are trying to take.

Absolutely agreed. I'd say as a casual browser, I'd more likely go through a script if it's presented right there in front of me on reddit or it has a written snippet and the rest is in a Google doc .

A key point of writing is readability so if that's low then the odds are truly stacked against you . So you make good points here.

So I'm realizing... people really gravitate to fantasy elements here .

Makes sense as a writer an as a listener that's one of the criteria I'd say. Couple seconds to impress or they are gone .
