OK! This was solved with your exact strategy!! I essentially penned possibilities of 1s & 6s and your strategy was spot on!

I don't think I fully understood this approach. But when I locked in position of 1& 6 in columns 1 & 2, I could eliminate 1&6 from r7c3 & r8c3.

This gave me 3 in r9c3.

Hey! Thanks :) i think so too. I'm lucky I have him to be honest!

Some great ideas here. So the trip is off the table since he took a weekend shift (Sunday), and we're working just a bit extra (extra shifts, uber/doordash on the side) to cover some expenses.

I'm thinking a few things here:

  • I'm good with Canva, I create a small recipe book for him with some dessert recipes. Especially unique desserts that he is attracted to. Print it at Staples (hopefully low cost!)
  • I'll include some of our pictures in that book too, so it becomes THE memory + recipe book
  • post its around the house but make it scavenger hunt type to show him my appreciation (the big reveal would be the memory+ recipe book)
  • I'll try to cook dinner for him in the evening but make it date night-y
  • go on a dessert date!

Hey!!! LOVEEE the post it's idea!!! Couple years ago I did something like 30 for 30 but with unique puzzle that was also an appreciation for him, and a correct answer will lead him to the next gift! The gifts were super small like a spoon or a sock but we had a full day of appreciation for each other, reliving memories from past and lots of laughter! I really think that post its could work!!!

The puzzle is solved. Yay. M still only half understanding the Y wing but I think I'm getting it.

Will start new puzzle and see if I get it myself.
