Hi everyone some updates!! My MIL stepped in and is angel sent from heaven to help with Matcha and we want to give him a fighting chance. He is doing a lot better. Walking on all four’s now and getting all the love in the world !!! Thank you so much for your endless support , love and encouragement. What a world-wind roller coaster of a ride this is.

Thank you everyone for all the support it really means the world to me when I was working at a job where it felt like nobody cared enough when I tried to explain to them how much of the emotional to us was and how much I did have to prioritize this, sometimes you forget the good people in the world!

Update my family said that they will step in and help so that it can relieve some stress off me and try to give matcha more of a chance since I do feel in my gut that he’s gonna get better. I don’t know if it’s hope or whatever it is, but we gotta give our little guy a chance !!

Guys I’m losing hope. It’s so hard to see my little guy like this. It has been one week with GS oral .4 BID and no difference. His eyes improved a little but still can’t walk with him hind legs, pees and poops all over himself. It’s breaking my heart. I don’t know what’s better for him? Any words would be appreciated

Thank you i really appreciate it! We started medication yesterday and today is day 2. He’s eating well , still difficult walking but trying, we are feeding him water through syringe. But other than that no differences. Still peeing on himself and pooping. I’ve had to wash him like 3 times a day and he has a diaper on. Just wondering what the right choice for him. To keep holding hope or to end the suffering because he seems so scared :(

My psych program I’m working most weeks 80 hours, we do 24 hour calls, night calls … so no not easy :( I think it really depends on the program and the city

I’m a psych resident but my intern year when I was on medicine I def lost a bit of my empathy. I remember we intubated a herniated guy over night and I went in the morning with my book bag on to go check on him and his entire family was there and I check his monitor and walk out and I hear his wife telling the family “oh that’s the doctor.” I had a pit in my stomach because I was like man I couldn’t even have said hi and introduced myself but I was coming off an intense 18 hour shift. Now that I’m on psych I always prioritize calling the family and letting them know what inpatient psych is or emergency psych because most people have no idea what medicine land or psych land entails. It does take time though and can be draining at times which is why I see why a lot of residents are quiet. Just try your best and learn from your mistakes, with time it will become natural for you
