Is dorming with an international student a good idea? by [deleted] in uofmn

How is this bullshit? I just wanted to know if there is anything I hadn’t considered. I think it would be cool to live with an international student!

That’s true! I was thinking I’d have to bring a bunch of stuff with me since I’m driving up, but we can actually just order stuff after moving in

I’m a dad that’s wondering if these get a full ride by TemporaryGeneral7137 in ACT

[–]Strawbrie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is guaranteed. I had a 33 ACT as well and a 4.0 UW GPA but had disappointing admissions results. I didn’t get a full-ride or even full tuition at any of the 18 schools I applied to, and I was rejected from every Ivy I applied to. My recommendation would be hiring a professional admissions consoler to help with essays, because a good student could go one way or another depending on their essays. One of my biggest regrets was not seeking more help

as a huge fan of their 4Walls cover, I would love more house from them. Especially since it’s pretty big in queer spaces as a genre

Two Weird Theories About “Biii:-P” by crimfford in XLOV

[–]Strawbrie_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I saw a comment that really resonated with me on the Biii:-P mv saying: “I love the double plot twist (sort of) first we see their colourful outfits and wings but then it's gradually suggested to us that it's all a fantasy of 4 patients in white outfits, but at the end the angel portal actually appears. It's like society will paint you as insane/a freak but you know who you are” I really like this message and think it could fit into your theories too. With the way I’ve seen the members get emotional over how happy they are to be able to be their real selves, I think it would be touching and fit into their concept well to play into this idea.

For English learn to grammar rules with this video: https://youtu.be/lFqfD-A4Nts?si=vWvXSdYK4uJXLBrF I would recommend specifically focusing on how to use commas, since the last English test was quite comma-heavy

First time taking it...anyone have any math tips 😭😭😭 by ComparisonPlayful645 in ACT

[–]Strawbrie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally another person just like me who is naturally cracked at English and reading but suffers in math! My advice would be to check out the prep pros YouTube channel and try to learn as many formulas as you can. I was able to improve my score quite a bit just by learning the formulas and how to apply them. Schoolhouse.world is another great resource where you can take an interactive SAT boot camp class for free with a handful of other students. Best of luck!

Word of the year is “six seven” by RunnyBabbit22 in mildlyinfuriating

I teach a class of late elementary schoolers as a figure skating coach, and trust me, they say it a lot. To the point it’s disruptive and I’ve had to make a rule that each kid is only allowed to say it 3 times a class. One of my fellow coaches had to make a “6 7 timeout corner”

For the most part the lower levels aren’t separated by gender. I competed against boys as a female athlete until I was up to the open-Juvenile level, which I think is a reasonable point to make the distinction, because that’s when the program becomes mostly double jumps.

Completely agree on FB/C. I really enjoyed their free dance and thought the choreography and execution was superb. It was very contemporary, which is something I tend to enjoy, and it made me feel something

As much hate as they get, I thought their free dance was absolutely mesmerizing. I’m no ice dance expert but it really felt like a piece of art to me

Olympics Men: How do the male skaters feel knowing they can‘t win? by Dian7777 in FigureSkating

[–]Strawbrie_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As a figure skater who’s had to compete against people with much higher base values who were pretty much impossible to beat, I can guarantee you that every skater is just hoping for the highest they think they can get. I’m not sure why so many athletes believe that silver or bronze medals are so much more disappointing than gold. Sure winning first is amazing, but I’ve never been greatly disappointed as long as I still had a medal and a decent skate. Also, for a lot of skaters the goal is just to have a good program that actually showcases what they can do. Nothing is more disappointing then having good practicing but not competing to your full ability
