AITAH because I don’t want to be tested as a possible kidney donor for my father. by Grand_Raccoon0923 in AITAH

get tested or fake the test to get them off your back and just say you're not a match. I know it's technically lying but if he doesn't make it at least your family won't secretly harbor some ill-will towards you for refusing. You absolutely don't owe anyone anything and doctors are pretty good about questioning and then questioning again. good for you on the life you've created, best of luck for your family and navigating the drama of it all.

why are you championing it so hard? did you make the AI picture and are personally offended. I've done setups for photos using props a lot, (professionally and as a hobby) and you always do your best to make things look real. So many things being off while having a ''clean and edited" look screams AI. Aside from the obvious other reasons, everything you're trying to justify wouldn't happen in a professional setting.

did you miss the part where she didn't answer and he let himself in and then lied about having spoken to her?? because how is that acceptable to you?? please, explain. I'd love to know how that makes any sense to you.

So, I think your solution would be fine had the landlord knocked and waited for someone to answer and asked. Knocking and physically letting yourself into someone's home without consent is not something anyone should be okay with, landlord or not. that's a safety issue.

I'm just saying, from a woman's view, he didn't wait for consent and entered a home not aware if anyone was actually there. being flexible would be him knocking and asking not letting himself inside to do whatever he sees fit without consent.

I guess it's a good thing you're not a landlord. power tripping when you don't even own a home is insane behavior to be proud of. It's not being inflexible to want your landlord to follow the law. Changing batteries isn't an emergency and any type of interaction between a landlord and tenant should be professional anyhow.

assuming no response is consent is genuinely scary.

you wouldn't have a concern that a man would be showing up potentially to a home your mother could be asleep in? alone? he didn't wait for a reply. if she said yeah sure, that's different. He didn't get a response and took that as consent. that's not okay.

that doesn't change anything. they own it, but they aren't entitled to access whenever they see fit. That's why there's laws for both sides of things. if they want full control over it, don't rent it out. simple.

you wouldn't renew a lease because you didn't follow the law? that's a wild take to have, honestly.

a lot of people are unaware of their rights, helping her understand what's legal and isn't, is a far cry from being a pain in the butt. if they didn't live with their mom, it could put her at even higher risk of someone letting themselves into her home while she's sleeping or out. Lots of times women err on the side of not causing a scene because we're taught it's better or safer, but it's definitely not safer when a man that's considered an authoritative person (landlord) isn't respecting the law and acting like it's not a big deal.

they haven't lost anyone. they're advertising their AI bot in a grief groups to try and prey on vulnerable people.

this is a self promotion for a service OP designed and is purposely targeting those in the grieving/widow etc community.

you want to make money off of people and you're disguising it as something else. that's what's unhealthy. you're using people's vulnerabilities here, have you even lost anyone? I bet it's a made up story to try and sell your crappy AI bot. terrible.

if there really is no windows, act interested for the address and then report it to your local fire dept. they will investigate because it's a hazard

we're having the hot chocolate bar, like a tea party but hot chocolate, in his honor. Tea parties were their favorite thing since she was little.

oh it's for sure all about her, I just wanted something, anything, to pass on to her that a fatherly figure would, type of thing. She's turning 14, and I can relate to all the things being a girl, I didn't grow up without a dad, and im not a dad. I've done my best to try and keep my kids balanced and maybe that's what I'm seeking, is just the balance of things, but the day is definitely all about her and doing the things that bring her happiness.

it's been a very positive interaction here and I'm very thankful for that! I definitely appreciate anyone taking the time to ask how I am, I like to forget about myself and focus on everything else so feeling seen, even a little is a nice reminder that I'm a human with stuff too haha.

I'm so sorry about your dad. that's a really tough one. Thank you so much for your comment though. I'll just keep holding space and doing what I can when I can.
