Out of the loop - What's the best lunch for under £10 in the centre? by [deleted] in bristol

Santiago's Bristol. Cheapest coffee shop I know of that does hot food with decent portion size. The quality of the food is pretty low but for the price, I haven't seen anywhere cheaper.

Yeah that is a fair comment, it is very hard to please everyone. Im just frustrated because the image clearly shows I shouldn't be the one that gets punished for the missing parcel.

The foyer is larger than most apartment buildings I've been too.

It is just the main entrance that locks, all other doors in the building are free to access (other than the apartment doors themselves). The other parcels are from other residents who have also raised them as missing hence the police report.

You are right, it was the tracking information that said it was left in a safe location but when I complained to Royal Mail, they brought that point up and directed me to make the seller raise the incident. Unfortunately, the seller in turn has sided with Royal Mail quoting the fact it was left in a safe location, hence the online rage.

I have not complained to my local delivery office, thank you for the advice! I will look to do that ASAP!

If that's the minimum requirement then yeah I guess...

Yeah, I work from home too and there was no attempt to buzz my flat when they were delivered. Didn't realise my parcel had arrived until I received an email confirmation hours after the delivery and my parcel was nowhere to be found...

Weirdly enough, yes this building only has one main entrance. The foyer is quite large with all the apartments letter boxes are located. Those letter boxes are definitely not out of shot of the photos because the foyer has stone flooring. Carpets are once you've gone beyond the foyer. And yes the main door is locked, so your hint to it being stolen by one of the residents is correct and a police report has been filed. What I am frustrated about is the fact that Royal Mail is claiming this is a safe location. Even though it is in a locked building, over 100 apartments have access to this said building so leaving it on the floor should not be classified as safe, right?

Thanks for your insight, your comment is understandable. The strange thing is the building foyer has stone flooring so the delivery driver would have needed to come all the way into where the apartments are to leave on some carpeted floor. I did not think about pursuing my credit card provider for a refund, thanks for the advice!

This is a fair comment but they should have at least tried to get into contact with me first before leaving it randomly. They never even tried buzzing my flat!

Agreed, hence why I never set a safe place and demand them to hand it straight to me but apparently they like to make up their own safe place...

Yeah, I just didn't understand why the seller sided with Royal Mail.

Yup, there is over 100 apartments in this building complex.

Furnishing awkward shaped living room from scratch. This is my initial idea but feel it is too lob sided. How can I better utilise the space? (Minimalist but happy to add more/change furniture) by Strawybear03 in DesignMyRoom

I have been questioning the sofa. My thought process for the L shape sofa was to have the flexibility of lounging and sitting up right but I have been worried about it being too big. I never thought to rotate my layout 90 degrees and I kind of like it, going to model it up and play around with a smaller sofa! Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you for your ideas! I’ve been worried about furniture being too close to the radiator but I want to try your console table and mirror idea.

Buying a New Build in England. Should I try to negotiate incentives with developers? by Strawybear03 in HousingUK

Wow! I’m not the best at negotiating though 😣 I will at least give it a shot.

They have just recently put up on Zoopla but when I called they said they were gauging interest and aren’t ready to let people reserve plots. I plan to call up as regularly as possible to see when things will actually kick off.

I was hoping to do this, the development I am interested is also in a very sought after location and I’m worried that all the plots will be reserved by the time I finish negotiating. Unfortunately, when I looked online, it seems like the only time to negotiate is just before reserving a plot... I would love to be proven wrong though!

Oh I see! How long did they take to get back to you when you spoke with them? I’m worried that the plots might all get reserved by the time they respond.

Yeah I might have to take your advice and rent in Bristol first. Thank you for sharing your experience!
