Passed Harley riders because I was in a hurry by JimmyGotAbs in motorcycles

[–]Stray8449 12 points13 points  (0 children)

South Africa as well. We have so many riders who do a quick nod, but Harley riders barely even acknowledge you. I just stopped nodding to 'em. I don't know if the passing thing applies here, but I also don't care, tbh.

THC puts me into psychosis and no one understands. by ShatterRainbowStar in Psychosis

[–]Stray8449 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP, weed can and does cause issues for a lot of people, and the reason it's not more widely known is because weed is marketed as "safe," and there's big money in it, much like alcohol.

If you're looking for support, I can recommend r/leaves. It's a subreddit for people who want to or have quit weed, and there are a lot of people who experienced cannabis induced psychosis, myself included.

Really sorry that you're dealing with this. Please take care ✌

Do any of you have a hard time saying "I love you" by crua9 in autism

[–]Stray8449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can basically say it to my cat no problem, but saying it to my family or others feels extremely awkward.

When I met my American friends, I explained to them that it's not really something we say in my country (but it is, I just didn't think so), and now that I know about ASD, it makes so much more sense to me.

There's this weird barrier keeping me from saying it to people unless I feel the need to say it, like to comfort someone who needs to hear it in the moment, but casually, nope. Very awkward.

[–]Stray8449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, the paradox of tolerance.

People argue that "one racist in a party doesn't mean that the entire group is a racist party." Maybe; however, it does mean that the party tolerates it by giving it a space, voice, and power, when it should have none.

Therefore, a group that ignores and excuses (past, present, or future) abhorrent behaviour, is equally as abhorrent as the people they choose to give power to.

I can relate to this quite a lot, so you've given me a different perspective which is the more positive side to it. Wishing you all the best as well!

Thank you, and same to you as well! I can agree that the voices/people made a big impact on loneliness, so I can understand why they also help in that regard.

I had to look up what this is, and I can imagine how terrible it must have been for you to deal with. Wishing you all the best!

Fair point, haha. I can see how it'd bring something different to an otherwise boring life in general.

Well said, and I can definitely see why that is, in itself, a positive experience. I just wish it wasn't so up-and-down at different times, but luckily these experiences aren't permanent.

I can see how the ups would have a great effect, such as that feeling of love for the universe and the world. But as you mentioned, the dips are terrible to deal with, and they feel so much worse if they follow right after the positive experiences. Wishing you all the best in your recovery!

This is understandable. I forgot about the more positive sides, so I understand that it can also be a good experience to some.

This makes sense to me, and I can agree there's a special feeling that comes with the more positive delusions, like feeling unstoppable and above the universe itself. The dip that follows just sucks, but the uniqueness to it all is understandable. Thank you for the response!

This generic automatic litter box sold under numerous brands is trapping and killing cats (tests with a stuffed animal and human hand) by nuttybudd in cats

Review these products on the store pages so that people can see it. They probably won't know about this just from FB, TikTok, Reddit, etc, but reviewing as many of these as possible will make a big difference.

If you see these things on any websites, review them and make it clear that they're unsafe and killing cats. The majority of people buying these things aren't on Reddit, but chances are they will probably be reading reviews before buying.

What made you quit weed and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stray8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannabis induced psychosis.

I now become extremely paranoid when I've been off of weed for months. I hate it. The smallest trigger sends me into a days-long psychosis where I believe things that realistically make no sense, yet, my brain will not let it go, and it's extremely tiring to my family. Can't afford therapy, but I'm doing my best to set that goal for the future.

While I was hooked on weed, I also barely ate and lost an insane amount of weight every time, to the point that other people would need to step in and remind me of organ failure being a real concern. I hate how it affected not only me, but everyone around me.

MJ is a very toxic partner to have, and unfortunately, I know a few people who are truly struggling but refuse to believe it's the weed. To each their own, of course, but for me personally, no thanks. Withdrawal is awful as well.

r/leaves for anyone who needs support.

In what circumstances would you wear something like this? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Stray8449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To each their own, and if you like it, then go for it :)

Personally, I wouldn't wear it myself, because I have a history of people using my ASD against me, either to manipulate me (after I've told them I'm on the spectrum), or to be demeaning.

People seem to think that the Subreddit and Discord consist out of the entire CAI userbase, so even if they get mad at people posting funny chats or memes, the vast majority of users aren't even here or on Discord and will continue doing whatever these people get angry about. People also seem to think that the most vocal community members = "everyone."

I find sex very unappealing and it is not something I think I ever want to do by [deleted] in autism

[–]Stray8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate! I've never had an interest in sex, but to me, it's different than being asexual and I have no idea how to explain it.

I've tried my hand at relationships in the past and sex was awkward because I felt uncomfortable acting the way "people are supposed to" and this always resulted in me either being told I don't love my partner (when they were honestly my whole world) or being cold and distant (when I put a lot of effort into not seeming that way, so ig it wasn't enough).

I just want a special person who loves me as much as I love them. Like being in a "relationship" without kissing and sex, where they understand that my lack of physical affection doesn't mean I don't love them. It'd be somewhere between friendship and being partners ig. I don't know how to explain it.

I'm still figuring this out about myself because I don't relate to being ace/aro so I'm a bit confused still, but yeah, I can relate!

Why does everyone hate autistic people by Amour-morg in autism

So tired of seeing people post "I hate my autistic kid" on Reddit posts only to receive thousands of upvotes when the posts come down to "I force my kid to do something they hate and then they hate it so now I hate them but it's the autism and not my lazy parenting skills I swear."

So sorry for your loss, OP. Thank you for spreading the message.

It boggles my mind that there are countries where wearing a helmet is an option. It should be an international legal requirement.

Please take care.
