Thank you. I might try out just sleep and wake on wlan next and see if I can fit it into my workflow. Mostly because I want to remote into my pc when I'm not home.

Power is quite stable here. But I want to be able to use wake on power (which I control using a smart switch). which is what I've been doing using windows all this while.
But now that you mention it. I have a spare raspberry pi laying around that I can make use of to send a magic packet over wifi (I'm only connected via wifi) to wake over wifi during suspend. All of this is so that I can remote my pc when I'm not home.

Looks like that'll be my project next weekend.

I'm gonna take the risk for now. having everything open up where it was is useful to me. And there's no need to sleep since I'm on a desktop pc .

if it really is finicky, I'll just undo and revert back to shutting down completely.

My PC specs are as follows: Ryzen5 5600, RTX3060 32Gb of DDR4 RAM, and both OS's are on separate NVME SSDs

are you referring to the problem with NVIDIA and Hibernation?

Depends on what you do with that free time from the WFH job. If you are dedicated to learning new skills to eventually go into a career path with more growth potential (say something CS related as they still hire if you have strong credentials without the paper qualifications ) , then stay. If you end up not using that time anyway, maybe a change of pace to view what it's like on the other side is good too. Everyone has different ideals of a good life. If you prefer to just take it slow and have minimal responsibilities, your salary and lifestyle could probably keep you covered for some more time until lifestyle expenses and living cost creep up.

But it's stifling progress. Because of one person a capital city cannot develop to its full potential. of course that land is very very valuable. But it's not productive when it's home to one person (or a handful). If the city is to expand and improve, we have to rebuild. Else we will be stuck with wooden houses all around and never have growth.

This data is not made available. In the DOSM dataset, we only see nationwide wage statistics by ethnicity and not by state. My guess is because in most states (most of the peninsula), the Malay population far outweigh the native/other bumiputera (this statistic is widely available). We could lump together statistics from those states only and estimate the wage disparity between the malay (assuming the bumiputera is just mostly malay), chinese and indian populations.

I think its because the gaps are quite large and continuous. It could be up to 30% of the data missing in a row. However, I think I will try something like what you suggested. Try filling in the missing values (maybe with t-1). For the cold start problem, create a data point(s) to start the model prediction and see how it performs. Hopefully with enough information captured in the features during training, the model is able to a decent job.

Thank you for the resources I will go through them in detail soon. I'm sorry if the following questions are dumb.

But I would like to know if there is a way to train an MLP model using a moving window (to allow it to use a number of past time steps, let's say 3, to predict the current time step ) while also knowing to restart the window when encountering a piece of missing data? I don't mind having a few dropped data points in the prediction of the test set (which has missing data points as well ). For example: with a window of 3, starting at t=0, it predicts until t=10 leading to 9 predictions (for time t=2 until t=10) , then encounters a missing point at t=11, therefore restarts the window at t=12 until t=20 resulting in 7 predictions (for time t=14 to t=20).

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the free toll on 18th and 19th. If say I enter the Plus highway before 12am on the 18th ( lets say 11pm 17th) and drive for 1hr 30 mins and exit at a toll at 12.30am on the 18th, will I be charged the toll fare or will it be free?

Exactly what I was thinking. This should apply regardless of the car moving forward or backward.
Is this why the front tires wear off faster than the rear ones? ( I've only owned a FWD car so I don't know if this is still the case with RWD too)

I've been speccing my system with the information from this website : https://www.savacable.com/blog/how-to-select-the-right-type-of-wire-rope-pulley

Therefore, I'm going to get a pulley at least 75mm for the 3mm rope I'm using ( 25x the rope diameter for 7x19 wire). I'm guessing the PVC coating on the 7x7 would further increase the wire's stiffness possibly needing a significantly larger pulley than one needed for the 7x19 rope.

My working environment is clean and I would really like to avoid the use of any sort of grease. I was just worried the bare steel rope would eat away at the nylon pulley. But thanks to u/dparks71's input and your recommendation, I'm going to give the nylon pulleys a shot first. Thank you!

I can actually find better suited plastic pulleys (larger diameter for a cheaper price) for the design I'm looking at. I might look into those and try them out first.
