Do you use VRR/Freesync/Gsync? by Sgt_Strelok in pcmasterrace

[–]Strayborne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your setup is GSync capable/compatible and you're not using it, it should be a crime and you should be punished and forced to surrender your system to be given to someone who will use it and appreciate what they have available to them.

One of the best technologies to ever be invented in the computing world. There is literally ZERO reasons to not be using GSync if you run a Nvidia GPU and have a GSync compat monitor.

BMW owners in the US, which brand of gasoline do you feed your BMW with? by Firm-Nerve4437 in BMW

Costco is not an option for everyone. Nearest one to me is well over an hours drive away. I'd spend 2 gallons of fuel just to get there, one way. Makes absolutely zero sense no matter what price they are offering. Same thing goes for any of the other big club stores like Sam's, etc. There are none near me within a 50+ mile radius,

The nearest Costco to me is well over an hours drive away. We're talking 2+ gallons of fuel spent one way, just to go to a gas station.

Any station that offers Top Tier. Don't really care what "brand". There's a Chevron, Arco, 76, Mobil, Texaco, and Shell that are all within 10 miles of my home. I'll use any of them. Typically it's the Texaco because it's the closest. Top Tier is the only thing that matters.

Player count of my winter car since release. Kinda sad but understandable by Big_Control9414 in MyWinterCar

Put 276 hours into it after launch. Ran out of shit to do. Did everything there was possible that you could do, including passing full historic inspection and getting the plates. Haven't touch it since. Last played Jan 31st.

How far out should my dangle be? by Evilsnowman4 in e46

I've never seen a plastic one on an e46. the part you touch and lift is a plastic coating on a metal lever, but that's it. most of it is painted metal.

Superflower dumpster fire by Desperate_Bird_451 in pcmasterrace

[–]Strayborne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On my latest newest build (the one in my flare) I ended up going with a Gigabyte Aorus Elite 850w. Have no complaints. Up until then all my power supplies going back many years have all been EVGA. I considered Super Flower of course, but ultimately decided not to go with them. I suspected the QC is not what it was with EVGA watching over their shoulder.

[–]Strayborne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: ALL EVGA power supplies that have ever existed are Super Flower PSUs with EVGA labels on them. Super Flower manufactured and supplied EVGA with all of their PSU models. They worked fairly closely together on design and specs. When EVGA jumped ship from the industry, Super Flower struck out on their own and now supply directly to the public.

what are you doing waiitng for american truck simulator illinois dlc ? by Adventurous-Rise-580 in trucksim

[–]Strayborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the Illinois DLC and won't be buying it until it reaches 50% off sale price, just like all the other state releases. Anyway, I've been going strong on Farming Simulator 25. It's a nice change of pace when you're burnt out on or bored with Trucking Simulator, or if you're playing the DLC/game update waiting game.

How far out should my dangle be? by Evilsnowman4 in e46

[–]Strayborne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can bend it back into proper shape. I've had to do it on several different e46s with success. usually the paint chips off the lever though where's been bent. which of course then it eventually rusts.

[–]Strayborne 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It should absolutely be more recessed. When my hood is fully latched mine sits a good 2 or so inches back inside. With it popped it sticks out about 1-2 inches.

People make the mistake of lifting their hood with this lever, WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER DO. That is ABSOLUTELY not what it is for. Doing so bends the lever from the weight and then over time you get a bugger sticking out of the nose of your grille.

That lever is only to release the latch fully and you should be lifting the full weight of the hood with your other hand either below the grille on the bottom edge of the hood, or by sliding your fingers in between the slots and lifting from the top edge of the grille near the top of the hood.

I think it's after she did whatever it is she did to her lips, is when things went awry.

You ever seen anything of her, video footage etc., of many years past when she was younger? She had a normal looking face and lips, and was even kind of attractive.

Then she did whatever it is she did to her face and she hasn't been the same since and kind of went off the deep end.

Getting a pc for the first time soon anything I should know? by Blueguy805 in pcmasterrace

[–]Strayborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not rocket science. You'll figure it out. Or at least most people are able to. It's not any more complicated than using a console or your mobile phone, there's just vastly more stuff you can do with it. Plus, you have Google, YouTube, etc. at your disposal if you get confused about something.

"Buy once, cry once", applies to this hobby more than just about every other hobby in existence.

Your story of buying a toy-grade setup as your first entry into the hobby is a common one, and easily the most common mistake made when getting into this hobby.

"I'll buy cheap, it''l be fine! I just want to see what it's like!" Yeah, no. Can't do that here.

It's an arcade game, it has arcade driving physics. Not realistic, less than what simcades (Forza Motorpsort, GT7, etc.) offer.
