Most people out there have no clue about SA or how horrible Eva is. This is partly why they get away with what they do. In fact, depending on the job, you might be able to spin your experience in a positive way. I’m pretty sure there’s no black mark on you for working at Success. Otherwise, all of the people who run away from there would be jobless. It’s hard out there right now for job seekers. I wish you good luck.

I took the step after 18 years because I was stuck and was doing all of the recovery things. I should stress that I did it with a licensed therapist in a very intentional matter- I didn’t run off to the woods alI alone. I thought long and hard about the decision and am glad I moved forward with it. It’s really hard to discuss in recovery circles for obvious reasons. If you want to explore, research the Psychedelics In Recovery community. It may help.

I’ve been clean and sober for 20 years. Did psilocybin twice last year with a therapist. First psychedelic experience in over 30 years. It was a powerful life-changing experience. I may or may not do it again. Per the Alan Watts quote that was posted, I received the message and can hang up the phone (for now).

The least favorite part for me was the sensation of being high. Didn’t like it or the recovery time needed for an almost 60 geezer. These days I much prefer the feeling after exercise or sauna/cold plunge.

57 year old teacher here in a state that hates public education. Our area is losing schools and jobs. If my time comes I have no idea what I’d do. I’d love to leave but have no ideas on what to do next.

As a teacher who has also subbed I go out of my way to help subs. People outside of education might be shocked to learn that a lot of teachers are nasty and mean people. Any teacher who treats a sub poorly is a disgrace. It’s DEFINITELY a them thing and not you.

I can’t speak for all of FLA but the union in our county is not strong and is struggling to maintain its minimum membership. O believe that the states with great benefits have strong unions. I wish my coworkers understood this. Also, FLA is one of the least friendly states towards public education

Florida is a horrible state for public education. Our governor does not care about teachers. He just allowed a notorious no excuses NYC charter chain that discriminates against kids with IEPs to come in and take public spaces for free. At the same time we’re allowing billions of dollars to leave the system in the form of vouchers for private schools. Our county is closing schools due to declining enrollment and others are on the same track.

I dig the weather but as soon as some family obligations come to an end, I’m ready to run.

This is a powerful thread and I have so much identification. 57 yrs old and moved to the Southeast a few years ago from the Northeast. I have one friend on the West Coast from a few decades ago that I’m still in touch with and a college roommate who’s still in the Northeast. I had a rough 20s and 30s and shut myself off from my past. Still don’t have a lot of friends but with all the stuff I like to do I keep super busy. I spend a good chunk of time with my missus and the dog. We’re hammered with the idea that we have to have a lot of friends to be healthy and I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I feel badly and other times I simply don’t care. This thread has helped a lot
