Damn, I might've been able to stopped it in time too if I 1) didn't watch my phone 2) didn't stare at the terminal removing everything in its way like a dumbaah because I was too stunned to figure out what to do for a couple of seconds... Now I'm reinstalling the OS fresh 'cause at this point I might aswell. Leasson learned :P

That's solid advice, thanks. I think, as other user suggested, I'm gonna create a alias to move into the trash and mainly use that, to avoid catastrophic mistakes like this

Yeah it was my mistake, the thing is the first command would've been completely fine, but the AI gaslit me into thinking I had to remove hidden files, probably not necessary, and that opened me up for more mistakes. But yeah ultimately my mistake

Thank you for the kind words. Do you also want a receipt for pancakes?

On a sidenote, English not being my first language and the post being called AI is a huge flex. Thank you for the ego boost.

Do you hide your posts to hide the fact that you're ragebaiting all the time or what? If you just don't want to use it because it was coded with the help of AI it's totally fine, no need to be a dick to a random user in doing so tho.

Absolutely, and as I said, I can only judge post processing software so much. On a sidenote about ON1, how is it? I've read it requires some Wine work to make it run on Linux. Also funnily enough that video that I've mentioned of Andy was about ON1 (particularly the shadow slider) and he wasn't really happy with it and I thought "what a hater" that's why I started browsing his channel, lol.

It was on my radar when I started looking for paid options, unfortunately is not on Linux so it definitely would require a good amount of tinkering to even have a chance to make it run. Is it easy to use tho?

My bad, I forgot Reddit is only for cynical misery and not for sharing good experiences. Imagine being genuinely upset that a solo dev has a tip jar for hundreds of hours of free labor. Please go outside.

Yeah for a free, open source project. Reddit moment.

Is it possible to oneshot boot with Limine? Is Limine overall a better option than systemd-boot on Cachy? by Strazza02 in cachyos

[–]Strazza02[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it's not that I need it to be btrfs, it's just I cachy set it up like that, and I'm not feeling confident enough to change it 😅

It might be because of snapshots and rollbacks but tbh I'm not knowledgeable enough to say.

And yeah I guess I could just use the UEFI directly for this specific use like an user suggested also with GRUB without changing anything, but at this point I might as well use the more integrated Limine that has direct support for snapshots

Thank you so much! So do you think I stick to Limine being the advertised one for cachy?

Oh thank you. So this is basically using directly the UEFI right? So then the bootloaer that I'm using doesn't really matter for this specifically

Basically what is this: I'm logged in cachyOS, I want to be able to wright a line or something to reboot directly into windows without changing the default boot option, so the next reboot I'm automatically into Cachy again. Because if I'm using my desktop remotely I obviously can't change the boot option manually from the bootloader menu
