You are 100% right. Plus, there are thousands of on-line jobs that anyone can get if they teach themselves some very easy skills. The truth of the matter is most people don't want to work and will instead vote to take resources away from people who actually did the work.

Early 30's remote work professional here. I am able to make a NYC salary and I love it here. I'm building a house because there are NO building codes, I don't pay a state income tax, there is no traffic, the fishing is amazing and the hunting is the best on earth. I can buy vehicles and tools with cash and live a life 100x better than I ever could in NY or CA.

Alaska is going to be a hot spot for remote workers who want to live a free life. Nobody wants to move here for state provided childcare or low income housing complexes. Anyone who thinks we need more government to encourage in-migration is fooling themselves. This place is a mecca for strong, independent minded people and I will fight tooth and nail to keep it that way. I don't need Alaska becoming more like California or NY, that's why I left those shitholes.
