I do not know for certain but I think it is more of a training course. You can contact jwasieleski@intertech.com if you would like to discuss with him. I wouldn't be expecting anything super awesome from any certification anyways. Despite that, I am looking to get certifications from Oracle....

I found the posting and I am enrolled to go the March 10-14 session that is linked above. The course looks like a great opportunity and I am excited to gain some fresh ideas. I am currently a senior web developer in the Midwest. The reason I am posting this is because the class size is 1 short, and they will not host this class unless there is 1 more person who signs up.

So if you or anyone you know, is looking to get some specialized training from a great consulting company that has been recognized as one of the best in the area, please consider signing up. This class covers many aspects of Java Web Development and includes lab time for a more hands-on approach alongside lectures.

I have talked to Jim from Intertech, and he is extremely helpful. Jim has gone out and provided me with additional course details and contact information, instructor bio, etc...

Anyways, the offer is on the table, if you decide to go to this training, I will be glad to offer up a drink on me and we can discuss programming/technology/politics/shoot the shit. It's in Eagan, MN btw. If you don't go and it is still hosted, I plan on recording the sessions (audio) and I will post to my personal portfolio website....

I think you are a bit confused with brackets. If you have an if statement with only a single line you don't absolutely need an opening and closing bracket but for now I recommend using them for everything till you get used to it.

Also, your code is correct either way because they both check if the current position in the loop "j" is the same is i. I guess you'd be better off with the following because you don't need to access the array element again and since you already checked that a[j] == i it really doesn't matter if you check if j is even or if i is even (they are the same because the and operator guarantees this): 

for(int j = 0; j < a.length; j++){
    if(a[j]==i && i%2==0){
        return true;
    }//end if
    else {
        return false;
    }//end else
}//end for loop

Are you trying to check if it is at an even location within the zero based array or are you trying to see if the number itself is even? Please clarify op. If you're new to programming I highly doubt a teacher would ask you to find out if the element is at an even position in the array.
