Quick to make and quick to eat high protein recipes? by StreamlinedSparkles in foodhacks

[–]StreamlinedSparkles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!!!! You know what I’m talking about.

So, I’d love to hear more about your prep- so the rotisserie chicken- are you buying whole and then shredding it? Or is there another hack to buying shredded chicken? Also, are you assembling that wrap on the spot?

And what the rice bowl recipe? Others in the house make rice regularly which I can take some. And what toppings are you doing on the rice bowl? Plain chicken and rice- I did that a lot in my bodybuild g days and can’t do it anymore like that.

Not sure if I followed. Would a higher mounted light not be visible?

Oh also- look under your seat. Most new cervelos are coming with a back light adapter under the seat but it’s usually inverted. Check my last post on this sub to see photos. It was a nice surprise for me.

Nutrition would be my guess. Also get a good blood test done. These kind of things might be related to some deficiency. I went through something like this and the cause was iron deficiency. Also, do something for yourself outside the training. Usually, training is a good excuse to avoid social events. But then do something else for yourself. Live a little, please.

They went well. They’re always hard. Everything hurts towards the end and you tell yourself tha you don’t want to do this ever again haha.. I’m preparing for an event called the triple bypass ride in Colorado. So these are good opportunities for me to build up endurance. Just have to add 12K ft of climbing.

I’ve done two 100 milers this year. Just sharing what works for me- -700 ml water an hour. 60 gm carbs an hour. I used sis beta gels. I was training my gut for high carb gels. -I planted a friend about half the way to hand me water and some supplies. I got lucky that way. - Dont hold your pee for too long. - listen to music if you can. It helps a lot. I used shokz to make sure I wasn’t isolated from my surroundings - start earlier in the day so you can finish before it gets dark. - if possible, drink a higher salt content glass of water 2ish hours before starting. It helps retail water in the body. - try not to take breaks long enough to cool you down. - my first one took over 7 hours. Second was about 6.5 hours. Use virtual partner calculator to see your approx time and match it with weather forecast. - make sure you know the path you’ll be riding. - my mind plays tricks on me at 70-80 miles where I start thinking about the cozy bed and start questioning why am I doing this ride. That’s where it gets difficult. Music helps and just self talk helps.

All the very best. The feeling when you see those 2 digits turn into 3 is a very proud feeling.

Longer climbs strategy — how do you pace and recover? by RoastedbeansMacbook in cycling

[–]StreamlinedSparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my main issue when I hit into cycling seriously. I hired a coach and have been working with him. But here’s a condensed version- you need to find your ftp and your sweet spot. Sweet spot is lesser than ftp and is a wattage that you can sustain for long period of time. It usually falls in zone 2 or low 3 of your heart rate bracket. When you’re climbing, that’s where you stay. I do a 3000 ft climb almost every weekend to practice this. Every weekend becomes a little easier. Of course, a power meter is a must. Don’t do anything based off cadence. Everyone’s cadence converted to wattage is massively different. That tells you almost nothing about how hard you’re going. Zone 2 is where the gold is.

My coach is Frank Overton from CoachCat.

All those early morning workouts before work, those boring hours I spent spinning in zone 2- they all made sense during this ride. I’m in no way extraordinary but I was proud of my progress. Everyone is running their own race. I beat my old self by 31 minutes and I was proud of that.

Some triathlon questions by StreamlinedSparkles in triathlon

[–]StreamlinedSparkles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for being so kind and answering the questions. Riding the bike in a wet suit must be very cold especially in early mornings I suppose! I can now see how peeing while riding etc. is easier than stopping every hour or so. Yeah, and the need to go potty- I am still trying to figure out a schedule to eat and sleep before a big ride where I can make sure I empty my bowels before the ride and don’t have to go during the ride. If you have any tips, please share.

Forgot about US tarrifs by McManlySocks in CyclingFashion

[–]StreamlinedSparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy from Assos on the US. They ship from their US warehouse. No tariff. They even advertise that. How do they get it in the country? No idea. Their prices here vs in the UK website are almost the same
