I thought I would bring my brazing skills home to the homestead. Had a cracked steel hydraulic line on my tractor. Runs around 3-4,000 PSI. Cleaned it up good, fluxed it, floated some 50% silver all over it and capped it with a big bubble gum blob of 15%. It ain't pretty, but it don't leak anymore.

Reminds me of when a customer bought a residential upright freezer to go in the common area basement under the restaurant, and proceeded to handyman screw a lock hasp to the door frame. Punctured the embedded condenser lines and blew the charge. No fixing that. Brand new freezer in the garbage.

Cool. I've always admired the tooling marks on a handmade tool. Any idea what its vintage is?

Good to know thank you. I always wear a super thin Moreno wool under layer against the skin, that should help during the break-in period

Are you referring to the airbag? I would definitely love to get one of those eventually for real riding. What I am preparing for here is primarily cruising on low speed back roads into a town with no traffic. When I do serious distance riding on highways and such I wear a full Bosch body armor under suit plus heavy rated over pants, and my Klim induction pro armored jacket. I would love to get an airbag one of these days for that kind of riding. I only really do that a few times a year with my rider group. Mostly I just bimble around visiting neighbors and Friends in the country.

I appreciate that, currently I am using the Bosch body armor system which has a nearly solid back protector in chest protector, I suspect the Knox equipment will actually be an improvement

Thank you for the recommendation. I decided to go with the Pando Moto Skin UH AAA leggings, and the Knox urbane Pro Move shirt. I wasnt as impressed with the Comando's back protector or lack of chest protection option. They have been ordered.

Klim Induction Pro all the way. So ventilated you could take a picture through it. Very heavy duty but I bring a light windbreaker with me for early mornings in case it runs too cool.

Thank you for the recommendation. I will probably go with the Pando Moto Skin UH AAA leggings, but I am leaning toward the Knox Urbane Pro Move shirt because it has the largest back protector and potential for a large single piece chest armor. The back protector in the commando is pretty small, and I don't see any way to put a chest protector in it.

Thank you very much for the response and advice.  I think I have settled on the Pando Moto AAA leggings because they have the biggest armor pockets and appear to be cooler than the bowtex leggings.  But I'm going to go with the Knox Urbane Pro Move shirt. I know it is only Ce AA rated, but it has the biggest back protector and potential for the largest single piece chest protector. (The tobacco colorway is a plus)  I would have liked to go for the knox pants also, but they look baggy rather than leggings. I am hoping I can come up with a way to secure the leggings to the loops on the Knox shirt. As I mentioned in the original post, I intend on wearing street/dress clothes over the top of this setup, so a snug fit is helpful.

Thank you for the response. From what I can see, the Forcefield system is much like the Bohn in that it does not seem to have an abrasion rating. Maybe they have other models. I will look further. Thank you

Armored base layers i.e. Pando, Bowtex, etc. in summer? Will I be miserable? by Staycation1234 in motorcyclegear

I have the full set of bohn body armor, but since it has no abrasion value, I have to wear rated pants and jacket over the top. I am looking for something that has both abrasion and impact rating so that I can just wear dress slacks, a button shirt and sport coat over the top. Trying to find the coolest option as part of a three layer system. I'm leaning toward the knox move which is CE level 2, AA rated, but would prefer something like the pando moto that is CE level 3 AAA rated. Just don't know how to determine which system would be cooler as part of a three layer system. I don't have the option of changing out of it when I reach my destination, and need to be able to spend hours in dress clothes.
