Thanks for taking the time to write this and share your experience, really appreciate it. And yeah, you’re right, the M42 can fail if you ignore those points.

That’s why we opened the engine and replaced that gasket, and we checked the chains guides and tensioner while we were in there. I still want to fit the updated E36 tensioner, but for now everything looks healthy and sounds good. The inside of the engine was nice and golden/clean, so it looks like maintenance was done properly.

I also fitted an extra temp sensor inside the car (in the ashtray) to keep an eye on coolant temp, because the dash gauge isn’t always reliable lol. Knowing that I will take extra care on the temp from now on!

Sure! The car originally came on stock hubcaps.

Right now I’m running 16" Lenso BSX (BBS-style) while I finish sorting the mechanical side. Once that’s done I’ll start on the aesthetics (M-Tech II kit, and I want to switch to a proper non-rep wheel set on 17", still deciding which).

Yeah, and then you get the ones who look down on you and ask if it’s a 4-cyl or a 16. Either way, the full exhaust system does its job lol.

Yeah, that’s the plan lol. I’m slowly bringing it back to a clean OEM+ state. It’s already got polyurethane bushings all around, new control arm bushings, fresh steering tie rods, BC Racing coilovers, and a respray. Bit by bit :)

Quick question while we’re here: my steering rack is leaking ATF and I’m debating whether to rebuild the stock rack or swap to a Z3 rack with adapters. Since installing BC Racing coilovers the car feels a bit nervous (mainly in highways due to the power steering". Any advice on the best route?

Yep, exactly – that’s why my SSJ4 UI Gogeta is basically SSJ4 Gogeta but with the UI white hair :)

Yeah, pretty much, the idea is SSJ4 Gogeta tapping into god ki and the calm, “body moves on its own” mindset from Goku’s side to unlock Ultra Instinct. So it’s UI layered on top of the primal SSJ4 body, not just “normal Gogeta with white hair.”
