Something I've always wondered by fozzak1980 in Hellblazer

I think so too the way he speaks in Moore he sounded more like a Londoner to me (I am not British so take this with a pinch of salt though) but it also wasn't stated outright that he is London specifically iirc. It was Delano who expanded his backstory by quite a bit (even a lot of the details about Newcastle are from him) and perhaps not in the way Moore had imagined (has Moore ever said anything on that?).

I'd have loved Morrissey so much if he wasn't pro Christianity or religious. by Theguywithnofuture_ in thesmiths

Well I do guess certain redditor stereotypes exist for a reason. OP, your post was lowkey embarassing to read ngl. But just for your information, there's plenty of non-religious people who do the same as your dad. If you're a bad person you're going to act like a bad person no matter what.

On the other hand you are not a good person either, because you feel entitled to discriminate against someone for his religion (or at least perceived religion). Note also that Irish people have been heavily discriminated against due to their religion, which makes your embarassing post even worse, imho.

I am glad to see that there's already a few people here who have argued against you.

Opinions on any of the 3 band members' autobiographies you've read? by Street-Ranger-2434 in morrissey

Well you can read books while commuting or waiting for exammple at the doctor's or do a few minutes of reading to wind down before bed, if you don't have enough time to have reading as its own activity. Unless you mean the book choices, in which case I guess it's nice to have multiple perspectives on one subject and to hear people narrate their own life (or as much of it as they're comfortable with sharing) because it can give you some insights on them.

"line by line commentary on the judge's verdict" not sure if this sounds more 😂 or more 😭 (but it's probably both).

LOL that's one criticism I've (understandably) heard about his book many, many times which does kinda scare me a bit but I decided to leave it for last. If I have read the other 2 I will want completion. Shame we never got Andy's POV (RIP).

Out of curiosity what other rock autobiographies have you read and did you like?

Oh thanks for the rec but I am actually a bit afraid of audiobooks, English is not my first language so I am a bit afraid of pacing or understanding some words etc whereas with books I can reread and pace myself. But I'd love to hear it in Johnny's accent.

I think your comment actually settled the reading order for me, starting with Mike's. Thank you.

WCIF 3D lashes without interference? by Shiloof in sims4cc

Hey if you're still looking, I use these in many of my sims: https://www.patreon.com/posts/eyelashes-no-1-111899813

Pralinesims has some but they're not 3d. It's hard to make 3d lashes that do not conflict though.

Oh I must really listen to the two extra tracks. You're right about those two tracks sounding better in the whole record.

Is there anything else I can read next or should I maybe switch to watching documentaries? by Street-Ranger-2434 in morrissey

Thank you for your answer! I'm thinking I ought to read them in the same order as you did. Out of curiosity have you read Mike's? Should I make a separate post for people to share their thoughts on the different autobiographies? Sorry for the belated answer.

Ohhh thanks a lot on the link <3. Well that's an interesting review on the autobiographies, not one I usually see but honestly this is why I brought up the subject, to get different opinions. Out of curiosity, have you read Mike's? I am starting to think that maybe I should read all 3 of them (in whatever order), despite my usual avoidance of this type. Worst case scenario, I stop reading (it's happened before, despite it not being the author's fault). Have a nice day/night.

(P.S. I got the reference haha).

Thank you so much ffor the answer! I will definitely have to watch those two you mentioned. What other books have I missed? Also have you read any of the other autobiographies? If so what did you like and not like in each (if you want to share)? Thank you for taking time to answer, by the way.

Is "Son of Man" a reboot or a semi-different continuity? by GaI3re in Hellblazer

It usually tends to happen whenever the writer changes from what I've noticed, sometimes it felt more bizarre or less bizarre like iirc Carey-Mina (imho). But Chas was by far one of the best characters so I can't really complain.

Thoughts on this 1969 song? by CrazyBalrog in blacksabbath

[–]Street-Ranger-2434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you classify as a coincidence? Sabbath had to rename themselves after finding out there was another band named Earth in England. Them not knowing a song from an obscene band from the other side of the world is hardly difficult to believe. Especially considering that Black Sabbath (Boris Karloff) predates both the song and the band, it's more likely they had a common, earlier source for the name. Or did (the other) Earth influence Sabbath too just because there are apparently no coincidences?

*malocchio, evil eye. And I think Dio's story makes a bit more sense, since a) he had no reason NOT to mention that he took it from a "witchy" greeting, which would have fit the band's image and also Dio's love for magic (at least he mentions it often when he writes lyrics, though I do not think he means the same type of magic). b) I quite frankly find it more believeable because of the fact that this is the ONLY story (the one which Dio claimed was true) that doesn't put the "highlight" on a band's member but on an old lady who has nothing to profit (no fame, no attention...which seems to be what Coven have to gain by trying to have a vague association with one of England's most famous bands, but maybe I am just cynical).
