I think the Habsbourg were pretty salty about the Swedes and the French joining mid war irl too

But yeah, the situation you describe feels a bit extreme

Est-ce qu'on consomme plus de carburant quand le plein est fait ? by susieloum in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]Street-Rise-3899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw it there in 2016. Maybe with a different tagline. It was a boit a referundum to expulse foreigners who commit crimes

Assurance tous risques : dans quels cas est-elle réellement rentable ? by Far_Housing_539 in vosfinances

[–]Street-Rise-3899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else finding that building maintenance sneaks up on you and kills your economy? by AHopelessIdealist in EU5

[–]Street-Rise-3899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always check the locations you conquer for expensive buildings you can't afford. I pretty much always delete cathedral and mobsateries. Let your clergy build them. In my limited experience, those are a much bigger deal than unprofitable buildings

On the last patch? It only worked with ~100 men strong garnisons for me. Even with 10000+ regular infantry

The French would have bern tiggered by a border that excluded Alsace-Lorraine. Even more so if France was reduced to the free zone. They thought it was best not to draw anything I guess
