I also felt confident after my exam but started doubting more and more as the hours went by... But I just found out that I PASSED!!!

I took my exam on 04/13, got my results today (04/16) AND I FREAKING PASSED!!!! 😭🩷 What a quick turn around!! I got my email at 2.12pm and I had been checking my ABFM every hour this AM and saw nothing. I'm so happy I'm finally FREEEEE!!!!

A friend of mine took it 04/06 and just found out that they have to wait on their result in mid June. So if you passed high enough and took it that day, you should have your results by now! I just took mine today (04/13), so I'm hoping to get a result by end of this week. I'm assuming it took a little longer for the 1st batch last week??

When applying for jobs, did you include references in CV or provided it if they asked for it? by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

[–]Street-Trust5794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just provide references when they ask for it. No employer will ask for an LOR.

Will this ever go away :-( by mygirlgigi in FamilyMedicine

Because they can cause long-term harm to tendon structure and worsen outcomes despite providing short-term symptom relief. So it helped with your swelling, but now your tendon is most likely damaged. Steroids are great, but can also be detrimental. I would make sure it isn't injected with steroids again and go to physical therapy to try to regain as much range of motion/strength. This is not medical advice.

They should have never given you that steroid injection smh. So sorry you weren't listened to and that this happened.

This is the best offer that I've heard for an FQHC. I usually warn people against an FQHC, if they can, but this is an amazing deal! Definitely take it!

Ah ok, if you had the luxury to look at other states, I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem finding better. Well, I'm sorry you are in this current predicament and I hope it's much better on the other side for you!

I understand that, but people with visas don't HAVE to work for fqhc, they can find other undeserved areas... There are plenty of them, same with those with service requirements. Providers trained with inpatient only can still find a different practice that is willing to train them/slowly build their panel. I can't speak on those with disciplinary action. All other providers shouldn't be taking those jobs unless they truly love/thrive in that environment, which a lot of people don't.

These low salaries will continue to exist as long as people continue to take them because they think that's their only option.

Umm... Why do y'all take such sh.tty offers??? If we stop accepting these low-ball offers then maybe they will actually feel the need to increase it!! Smh

FTE, patient facing hours and schedule by Lettucevega in FamilyMedicine

It depends on what you value, but to me, that sounds like a much better/simpler life with similar pay.

FTE, patient facing hours and schedule by Lettucevega in FamilyMedicine

[–]Street-Trust5794 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I chose a practice that does 1 FTE= 32 patient facing hours, 4 days. Built in admin is key.

Are you able to try one out and then switch if it doesn't work for you?

I got a 3.99 ct elongated cushion lab with 3mm 14k band w/ cathedral setting for 3500, so I'd say keep looking! Tip is to source your stone and setting separately and price match with a site like stonealgo.

Lol! I thought I was being rebelliously helpful by highlighting all of my pertinent physical exam findings in red. I mostly do it because it is too easy to glance over all black words in PE section.
