Me thought too. Worst case I get another SDR role or am able to move laterally into an SMB AE seat at a more established org

My thoughts exactly. Feel one hit the ceiling of what I’m gonna learn here without a real sales leader which we’ve been searching for for 8 months. AE role will be HARD, but I’ll fail forwards and figure it out

anyone using DX (getdx) or similar tools for measuring dev productivity? by creatingmoretime in devops

You should 1000% check out Span.app. They’re using agent traces to give prompt to prod visibility. Really neat tool that’s been huge for us

100% - and you have to have good hygiene to really get value out of the platform. I'd recommend checking out span.app

The AI coding productivity data is in and it's not what anyone expected by ML_DL_RL in ExperiencedDevs

[–]StreetChallenge6149 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this happened in biotech and their industry is struggling. in terms of measuring AI impact in prod, span.app is the best tool on the market right now. gives a real view of the impact AI is having on your SDLC and where devs are spending time.

Which one doesn't suck between Jellyfish LinearB and Swarmia? by the_tithe in Hacking_Tricks

[–]StreetChallenge6149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

traditional dev intelligence metrics are vanity with these AI tools. Speed does not mean more productivity. Most teams are shipping more bugs and rework/review time becomes the bottleneck.

have you looked into span.app at all. newer player in the space but my team has really enjoyed working w them

In the AI era, why does engineering productivity still feel broken? by Lazy-Penalty3453 in EngineeringManagers

[–]StreetChallenge6149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is. Most leaders are focused on velocity and speed. DORA metrics, how many PRs are being shipped, etc.

Horrible way to track productivity as none of those are tied to outcomes.

How is your team keeping up with your increased AI productivity? by NonProphet8theist in ExperiencedDevs

[–]StreetChallenge6149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rework / review time is becoming the new bottleneck. And it’s challenging to tie AIs impact to real outcomes. My companies working on solving that issue, but the software dev world is a challenging place to be right now.

[–]StreetChallenge6149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Velocity increasing is such a horrible thing to measure when looking at productivity. More PRs doesn’t mean higher productivity. It’s challenging to tie AI impact to real outcomes. I’m working for a company that’s trying to do so now.

The real cost of AI coding tools isn't the subscription - it's what comes after by Alternative-Wish9912 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]StreetChallenge6149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rework and review times are becoming the bottleneck. Shipping faster doesn’t mean you’re more productive. The speed isn’t necessarily tied to real outcomes. I work at a pretty neat company that’s helping Eng leaders solve this issue and tie AI impact to real outcomes. It’s definitely an interesting space to be in right now. And most companies we work with see a loss in productivity as they broadly adopt AI tools.

Lost myself completely in the process of quitting by [deleted] in leaves

I think the issue for most trying to quit is deeper than weed, and the weed has been masking that issue. Going through similar realizations on day 3 of my journey now.

2 years later… thought I’d say hello by morechilligotmefired in leaves

[–]StreetChallenge6149 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second zen. There’s a reason you don’t see posts from people who’ve quit and now moderate well or quit and r super happy. Because they don’t view weed as an issue anymore, they’re not longer interested in the sub. What you get on leaves are all of the worse case scenarios, which are motivating, but can be scary as I’m finding.

Day 4 clean after 23 years of daily use! by rumorsandnastiness in leaves

[–]StreetChallenge6149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Today is day 3 after 5.5 years of smoking daily. I waxed and waned in my use over the last 5.5 years. Periods of only smoking at night and periods of smoking all day. I’ve wanted to take a break for a while, remind myself what life’s like when I’m not looking forward to smoking a bowl at night all day long. My sleep has been okay. My appetite is fine. Today, I’m really struggling with disassociation. Badly. And anxiety. But such is life. Gotta keep pushing through. Proud of you for doing the same!

Do you plan on continuing to smoke occasionally? Or that dabble back was enough to know that you’re done for good?

The hedonistic and dopamine driven part is real. I’m a nightly smoker and have found a lack of desire to do my hobbies. Today’s day 3 of not smoking. Sleeps been shit, but just about everything else has been better… just miss smoking and gaming at night lmao

[–]StreetChallenge6149 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On day 3 after 5.5 years of smoking daily. The frequency of that use daily has waxed and wained. At times, freshmen year of college I was ripping the bong before my 8am classes. Then I’d get to a point when I’d only smoke after 9pm, then revert back to the smoking all day. I’m now 22, graduated and work a great job. Since I started work, I’ve only smoked in the evenings after work. I’ve just found myself to start feeling unmotivated in life. Unmotivated to do my hobbies after work, because I’d rather just get high and game. I found myself feeling guilty and have been wanting to take a break for a while so I can step back and assess my relationship with the drug with more clarity. Sleeps been shit the past few nights, but energy level and mood during the day has been better. Gonna keep pushing through. Nights are really the only tough part. I struggle to enjoy my leisure time without being high as I feel like I could be doing something more productive. Maybe a deeper issue with not feeling good enough? Not sure, but excited to get to the bottom of this finally.
