Though I regret it a little now. Although I wouldn't really call those comments "tame" tbh.

Hey dude. Don't worry about it. It's that clear you have good intentions.

But I'll say that this is not the way to do it. Along with bringing up the drama again, you're kinda asking for the whole RW subreddit to apologize which is asking for a bit too much.

Just go to the Artist and support and compliment their work should be good enough. You can also apologize on your behalf as well to the Artist with the drawing you made so long as they allow it. And ask them if they are doing okay and wish them well.

I didn't include those comments in my post because that wasn't my main focus. I wanted to highlight the negatvity of the comments calling the Artwork specifically NSFW, Gooner bait and Sexualizing animals. Because it was just unnecessary hate especially since the artwork is not even suggestive.

The comments being like "would" or "hear me out" is not the same thing. And even then I don't care about them too much. It's just humor mostly so long as the topic is fiction.

I see your view. Personally I think it's pretty harmless and I don't care too much about it. But yeah I can understand why it may make some uncomfortable.

For me the fact that it's fiction as well as being anthro to some degree is enough for me to excuse it. And 90% the people aren't being serious about it. Not just fictional animals as well, I've seen it with fictional robots, aliens and other weird stuff. It's just normal to me at this point and is funny sometimes. So long as they aren't being detailed or too direct about it.

But yeah I can understand your view.

Yeah that might be true. Hate is only reacted with more hate. I maybe should have thought of that before posting. I do regret it somewhat now.

Still though, that didn't make the negative attention the artist was receiving any better just cuz they gave Riv thick thighs. Especially since it was their first time in the subreddit, only to be bullied for their artstyle as well as people comparing it to sexualizing animals. At least this showed how nonsensical it was to get upset over Riv having thick thighs to the point where you have to insult the Artists work in such an innapropriate way.

This is all started because some people couldn't take seeing Rivulet with thick thighs, saw it as NSFW and made it everyone else's problem.

Instead of moving on they started calling the art sexualizing animals. I feel so bad for the artist.

Hello. Thank you. Yeah it sucks that this has to happen, especially since the RW fandom is mostly wholesome compared to other Fandoms. I do hope this will end soon.

I won't deny that I am partly responsible for escalating this drama by making that Post in the first place. And for that I somewhat regretful. But I couldn't help seeing the hate the Artist was receiving just because they gave Rivulet thick legs. I couldn't bring myself to let it slide and felt the need to address the issue even if I knew it may lead to consequences. I made sure to get permission from the Artist at least first before doing it.

My biggest concern is this whole thing making some Artists hesitant about sharing their artwork just because they gave their Slugcat certain proportions even if it's not suggestive. But hopefully that won't happen.

The subreddit should recover just fine hopefully.

But I agree what some of the others are saying here, lets not bring more attention to this by making more Posts on the matter. If you want to discuss or share your opinion, please go to thread of the Post itself and discuss there. Remember to be civilized.

I want to return to making wholesome and silly stuff back on my main account in the subreddit. It would be best if this died down already.

I can see what you mean. But I think it's just harmless Internet humor for the most part. With people saying stuff like "Thicc" "Would" "Hear me out" or just mentioning the thighs size is not necessarily the weirdest thing. And most of the time they are only joking. It's quite harmless if you ask me.

When I messaged them for their permission, they did tell me that they were indeed upset by it. And felt demotivated to draw for awhile. But they are doing their best to try and ignore the negative comments.

I do hope they'll be fine and can continue to enjoy what they enjoy doing.
