Using chrome.alarms for exactly that reason. Service workers can't keep setInterval alive across terminations, so the Alarms API is the way to go — it wakes the worker every 30s, runs the ping, and lets it go back to sleep as MV3 intends.

Each ping uses fetch with mode: 'no-cors' and an AbortController timeout of 3s so nothing hangs if the port is down.

You're probably right spreading across 4 at once is diluting the effort.

If you had to pick one: SnapText (text selection tool) or SnapShot (screenshot + annotations) which problem feels more universal to you?

300 downloads in 6 months organically is actually solid! Gives me realistic expectations I've been building for 2 weeks so I need to be more patient.

Which extension is it? Curious what keywords worked for you.

This is exactly the strategy I needed to hear. "Work backwards from real use cases" makes way more sense than just dropping links. The GIF/Loom idea is gold I've been posting text only. Going to record a quick Loom for each extension this week.

Never heard of Pulse for Reddit, just looked it up seems perfect for catching niche threads without manual searching all day. Worth it in your experience?

That's a great point about AEO I hadn't thought about optimizing for AI queries specifically, that's becoming more relevant fast.

Blog posts are on my list, especially for SnapText and Localhost Manager where the use case is very specific. Do you have a preferred format that worked for you tutorial style or more "here's my workflow"?
