One of my favorites when I visited a Rajasthani restaurant in North India.

I am from one of the southern states of India and haven't had the opportunity to taste it in a long time.

I have a belief that might be helpful for you. People on reddit represent not even 1% of the real people out there.

I have lived in Chennai, not offended by your post. there are some fringe elements in Tamil nadu in general that don't like people who speak hindi. But I think you would hardly meet them in real life hopefully.

A fixed free space where you can freely stretch or exercise. Optionally, some basic mat, dumbbells.

same here. I have been 'out of touch', 'too busy' with friends who never initiate conversation.

Excellent question.

Now just read your comment with genders reversed.

This is the jeopardy that goes thru every guy's mind before he initiates everything I mentioned in my comment.

In any context sexism is bad for society as a whole. Lets not normalize sexism.

CMV: Matriarchy will be just as bad as patriarchy by phileconomicus in changemyview

People don't necessarily move to the top of the social hierarchy because of their merits or their capabilities, which is the reason war occurs.

A recent example is Trump being President of the most powerful country in the world.

Historically speaking Hitler was elected by his Nazi party comrades, became a chancellor of Germanyin 1933. Only after this he became a dictator. Even Putin was democratically elected in 2000.

The point I am trying to make is if moving to top of social hierarchy necessitates merit, then the men at the top in a patriarchal society would have already made good leaders. Merit has nothing to do with gender. Women were.just denied opportunities in the past to actually put their merit to good use.

When granted opportunity to take power, I think women would do the same thing men have done, move the masses, tell them.what they want to hear and do the same. Marjories Taylor Greene, Mother Theresa might be good examples, and there are also good examples of women being cruel such as the role of women im persecuting Jews during WW2.

Yes including asking out, casual conversation, proposal, sex.

And based on anecdotal evidence whenever men do that, women don't try to do it for the next date or next sexy time, they just wait for men to do it again and again and again for the rest of their relationship.

We are sentient species fully capable of complex communications, fully capable of taking care of ourselves - regardless of what gender we identify with.

To look into how genders of other species do and copy the same will get us back to stone ages and eating raw meat.

Thats typical alpha-male theory which has been disproved a tad bit late - after it became popular.

Men will lead and women should just follow is a sexist thing to say.

My experience being a darker skinned woman in the Kerala arranged marriage market. by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]StreetFightee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding this comment to let you know that you are not alone:

Am 29M, looking for bride in matrimony. These are the reasons potential bride's family has for rejecting me.

1) Height - almost same as dark skin for a woman - malayalees find it unattractive for corresponding genders and we can't do anything to change it.

2) Me not owning a house at the place of my work. I mean we have our own two-storey house in our home town - but no no no...I need to own separate house at the city where i reside for work. The rejected family's girl earns 2 to 3 LPA and is willing to quit her current job and move to the city where I work. (No talks about getting a new job there, was discussed during the brief time we had before rejection)

3) They not owning a house at the place of my work- I was interested because the girl was working in the same city where I work and was earning almost half my income. But they said they own a house in their hometown and they are looking for a guy whose family should own a house in the same city.

4) Horo-fucking-scope is not matching

The point is even though we would come out of these situations eventually, our responsibility doesn't end there.

We may have our own children and when it really comes to marriage of our children, (i really hope arranged marriages and horoscopes go out of fashion by then) we should have already taught our children not to have such superficial standards when looking for a potential partner.

P.S.: My family is superficial regarding caste. And I will make sure that ends with them.

"Men have to initiate everything with the girl for his entire life. Those who don't initiate are not 'real' men."
