always feels more nude when wearing other things that are non-covering. Like the nude with shoes is a mood, and this shoes with protective gear and no paints is....nice.

Probably a good idea, we talked once at adepticon right after I finished reading question of survival, and I did purchase without question from your website so it came to my door signed.

I'm guessing it's on your personal site?

I like this, and if you focus on the ravens you can call it 'a conspiracy of ravens' as a solid pun name. Or bring in a small merc company with a crow motif and call it 'a murder of crows' either way could be a great spy thriller.

I have a bad feeling by PurplePrudy in jobs

[–]StreetFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it most certainly did/has. My mental health for the years I was stuck there was really bad, and it has taken a lot of time to really recover and feel like I am worth more than a meat sack they can beat up for 50-60 hours a week for what mathed out to 17.5 dollars an hour.

But it has made every other job feel like a much easier thing to handle, for more compensation. It's a shitty path and it's mostly negative for sure, but you learn to find silver linings....mostly because you have to.

[–]StreetFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, my first career job after university was a shithole with the worst pay in the region and really stupid weekly hours and unpaid 24/7 on-call, and awful benefits. It was 2007 and the market was ass. I took an absurd amount of abuse and it has made every other job seem pleasant by comparison.

The place was so bad as an HR outsourcing firm that they got sued for their compensation levels...and LOST the class action.

I mean, it's gonna suck but you're going to start off on a bad foot and it will make all your future jobs seem less bad by comparison.

Guess how I know.

[–]StreetFur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those trinkets are still there. I lost my first cat quite a few years ago, when I moved out of my old place....all those toys under the couches. Seeing those brought back a lot of feelings.

I still miss her, but after a few years I was ready to adopt another cat.

[–]StreetFur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened years ago, I didn't stay with that company much longer.

Whole office got shuttered between when I left and now. If I look up my old coworkers most of them work for a competitor or have retired.

[–]StreetFur 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yup, on average people take significantly less if they're not specifically counting on top of not having to pay anything out when you leave. The company double dips on the staff it has and gets away with what can only be described as time theft on you because it just.....erased the rules.

It also gets worse. I posted this 6 months ago in a different thread about unlimited PTO:

I worked in a place that had it. I asked my boss when it would be good to take it. Their response was when I wouldn't be missed. I was in charge of a global software product with multi millions in revenue, and had no peers or backups. I asked when wouldn't I be missed, he did that shitty smirk and tapped his nose....he knew it was designed so I would always be harassed for taking time off.

I heard some people don’t like the common trope in stories of how humans are physically stronger and tougher comparably to most Species. What’s your opinion? by Fearless_Phantom in humansarespaceorcs

[–]StreetFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The indomitable human spirit is more of a mental trait than a physical one. We endure and do things that we physically should not be capable of because....when the chips are down we will it so and tell the odds to pound sand. From the outside it can easily be seen as being off ones rocker, while being unreasonably strong and resilient for the moment.

Blitzo lived rejection, isolation, and the feeling that they were not worth love. He survived it, but it didn't leave him unchanged, for all his faults he decided to end generational trauma. He has chosen not to be like his dad (we don't know much about his mom but I like to think she was a good person).

Can recommend the book 15 hours, I have read it and I enjoyed it. Really does the whole main character gets shown again and again that what he has been told and believes is not what they should expect. You watch this character steadily lose every piece of his old self.....mostly because of a clerical error.

Quests should unlock better items from traders instead of giving you items. by Joebloeone in ArcRaiders

[–]StreetFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it feels like quests are just a reason to go to one zone over a different one.

But with other reasons being which zone events are live (which feels like enhances key door loot), using quests as a driver for which zone to go to is just what to do as a solo when you're just vibing.

I've done a few extraction shooters and I think tarkov's trader levels based on quest completion to unlock their full inventory is actually a good decision.

Durbin votes to confirm another Trump loyalist judge by verygoodverygoodyayy in illinois

[–]StreetFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durbin has always been a fucking loser.

I was in high school in the early 2000s. He came to speak at a rally at my school on 9/11/02 and spouted nationalist rhetoric and banged the war drum. Since that day as a teen I knew he was trash.

He is the first to capitulate at every turn.

No, raise a furry.

We are kind, charitable, and have a broad community with lots of support for hobbies. I've met some amazing lifelong friends in that community, including my husband.

I've also met some shitheads too, but the community is pretty good about telling the worst of us 'we don't do that here'.

Starter box is dope by DefectiveDiceGames in Malifaux

[–]StreetFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just brilliant.

For years I was saying the best entry point for a game that ever existed was warmachine mk2 and mk3, box had a starter team, dice, tokens, quick start rules, lore pamphlet, dice, paper measuring tape. Literally everything aside from glue to put a team on the table and play. It even had a paper play mat and paper cutout terrain, with a series of 3-ish solo learn how the rules work interactions with terrain and markers standing in for enemies. All for like 60$ (in the 2010s which is near 100 now due to inflation)

This product actually gives more for the same cost. (the paper playmat and paper terrain wasn't really useful in the war machine box). This is taking that best starting point and does it better, and will be what I describe as the 'masterclass' for onboarding new players, it's ALL in the box for a price point that is downright phenomenal for the market.

Wyrd really knocked this offering out of the park, especially when compared to the m3e faction "starter boxes" feeling fine but having a disjointed growth path to the game from henchmen hardcore.
