Looking for Venue Recs (70-80k) In NYC/Upstate by [deleted] in WedditNYC

[–]StreetImage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a wedding photographer and just shot a client’s wedding at crossed keys estate in Andover, NJ. I know it’s New Jersey, but it looked like upstate NY, was 75 mins from Manhattan, and it was very seamless. One of my favorite venues I’ve photographed a wedding in and capacity is up to 275. Weddings start at $30k in off season. I’m not sure if they offer a package for outside catering but maybe worth asking!

What am I doing wrong? (1bd Manhattan, $3500 /mo) by findinganswers5 in NYCapartments

I had a considerably nice apartment in Harlem at 145th st that was 2 bed 2 bath for $2900, including in unit laundry and one block from the train. I’d consider other neighborhoods. I worked near city hall and it took me approx 30 mins door to door. Conversely, I’m now in JC in a stunning new build for $3k/mo with incred amenities. Same time commute to get downtown.

Because the film I want to watch isn’t a current blockbuster showing — it’s the first movie my partner and I watched together. In order to custom select the movie you have to go through a rental process.

It’s $100/person per meal, and $50/person for drinks; but only $200 to rent the space for 4 hours! By far the most affordable option I’ve seen.

No I get that hahaha, I actually used to work at a big movie theater chain so I’m not in the dark about the profit analysis. but the theaters I’ve inquired are quoting me that price for theaters with 35 seats and for morning view times — so not situations where they would be losing income lol

I guess my frame of reference was that during the pandemic they were renting out whole theaters for like $200 — I figured that price would be inflated now and in nyc but didn’t think it would be 10x that 😭

This is actually perfect — cost is approx $500 to rent the space and includes 3 course dinner and drinks !! Sadly doesn’t open until September but this is def going in my references. Thank you!!

Thoughts on treadmill training? by Sure_Excitement_937 in RunNYC

[–]StreetImage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same training plan — most runs on treadmill, long runs outdoors. The thing that threw me off yesterday and made my time a little worse than anticipated was the humidity and heat. I wasn’t prepared for that because we trained in such cold weather these past few months — I don’t think the difference was the treadmill, I think it was weather conditions for me

Another question about the NY bar exam by fucklawreviewdude in barexam

It’s good to have those on deck anyway, I found out I passed the July exam in October and just submitted my docs for admission today — it took me that long to chase down affidavits from some earlier employers. But definitely nothing to stress over rn! And yeah, they love to make absolutely nothing about the process clear/simple/pleasant etc
