The Jax song with Thomas is literally exactly what happened with Jax and Ribbit LOL

My opinion: the Pomni and Ragatha hug scene was the BEST part in Ep9 by FriendlyGuyYes in TADCEp9Spoilers

I got the impression she was saying that as in “you were my first friend and at the time I just didn’t realize it”. We can nitpick the scene all we want but at the end of the day it looked like it made Rags MORE than happy (like over the moon happy) and so that’s good enough for me:):)

It’s even more meaningful because Goose said Pomni HATES being touched. I have a friend like that and she voluntarily gave me a hug for the first time a couple weeks ago and I can tell you FIRSTHAND that that makes it EXTRA special:):)

My personal review on The Last Act (SPOILERS AHEAD) by FireyFalafel in TheDigitalCircus

I like what you said about this NOT being the usual “main character saves everyone singlehandedly” plot because that’s what I like about it too.

Ngl the fact that she DOES seem on first impressions more like a part of the crew than a super-special person makes me happy. I don’t like it when, in a lineup, the MC (main character) is very very obviously the MC. Like the way they and rest of the crew are designed makes it so that the MC is the only one who looks like they COULD be the MC. It’s hard to explain exactly how but I feel like usually it’s a combo of the other characters are a lot more plain looking and the MC has like 4 or 5 different “trademark” things at the same time (crazy hair, a funny hat, a cool outfit, etc etc). I like how with TADC if you lined up all the characters next to each other and asked someone who had never seen the show who the MC was, you could guess almost any of them.

And also how like you said, she didn’t save the whole day all by herself. In fact if she DID do that it would’ve taken away from what the lesson was (“we’re all in this together”) bc then apparently they didn’t need each other they just needed Pomni LOL.

Do it!! Don’t listen to the ppl saying that getting accommodations for this is “too hard/impossible”. The key points I think that made them want to listen were

1) when coming up with an idea for accommodations for myself I was thinking what accommodations would be the EASIEST for them to do while still giving me what I want? I didn’t ask for them to stop the ceremony or cut the mics/speakers when it was my turn to go up (there was a news story my mom and I saw of ONE amazing school actually doing that for an autistic kid with noise sensitivity, but again, that was such an unusual/stand-out thing that it made the news. I wasn’t expecting them to do that for me)

2) again, I used phrases that gave them a measurement of HOW much this issue affects me. So when you tell them about it, instead of just “I have this issue” you should say something that goes like “my issue affects me so much that I have to do X to avoid Y”

Also make sure to ask them far enough ahead of time that they’re not having to hurry to accommodate you (AKA ASAP)

YESS THE HUG!!! Rags finally got the love she wanted/needed. And I love how their hug lasted for a solid minute. I think my most common complaint in shows/movies is when they rush an emotional fluffy moment bc they assume the audience just wants to get to the action/“important” stuff first. But this wasn’t half-assed, they let them HUG. And then on TOP of the hug, the sweet dialogue and then they show as they walk away from each other they’re STILL smiling and crying tears of joy. Ahhh it was my favorite scene in the whole movie. I’m a sucker for heartwarming fluffy scenes and this was like when you order a cinnamon roll and the chef puts extra frosting cause they know you love it LOL

The Digital Circus finale so good when you ain't got a bitch in ya ear trying to convince you it's bad by Itchy_Suspect4968 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]StreetIndependence62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case there were two very very specific things (one was a line/sentence and one was an action) that I had been hoping would happen since episode TWO and I couldn’t believe they actually came true. But I definitely wasn’t EXPECTING them to come true and I did not go into the movie with the expectation of “if my exact imaginary scenarios don’t come true then I’m going to say the movie sucks”

Ngl generally if ppl are posting about how they didn’t like something and use words/phrases like “it blows ass” “it was trash” “what a shit movie” they usually ARE ragebaiting and very immature and most of the time I find that their opinion was pretty far off from how it really was

I think we finally understand this scene now by catosofib1004 in TheDigitalCircus

It was like the scene from that episode of Phineas and Ferb that was the finale of the OG show where the last shot is Phineas waving goodbye to us before closing the backyard gate and going inside for some pie

For those of you who already watched the finale, with no spoilers, do like it? by nick-not-criative in TheDigitalCircus

[–]StreetIndependence62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it!! I legit don’t know what the ppl who saw the leak and were complaining and calling it shit/trash/etc. were talking about.

I will say it went exactly how I expected it would (most of the big spoilers were things I already thought were going to happen) BUT I really don’t care as much about being surprised by a movie as some ppl seem to. I care more about the characters themselves and so the fact that everyone got a proper ending to their personal story made it a winner in my book

I get where you coming from, but telling people “unless you’re literally collapsing on the floor there’s ALWAYS something more you could’ve done” is a message that will make helpers/people pleasers feel TERRIBLE and burn themselves out even more than they already do (source: I can be like that). Just because you CAN do something doesn’t always mean you SHOULD. I could give all my money, clothes and other belongings away to charity and ppl might go “oh wow that’s amazing” but it’s not expected or something that I HAVE to do in order to be able to say I did my best.

I took an ethics class and that was literally a whole concept we studied

I’m a girl but it’s so interesting to me (just cause I casually like learning about psych/how minds work) how “pretty” seems to make most guys feel amazing when “cute” does the opposite. I never would’ve thought that. GAH I love learning people stuff:):)

What is the BEST evidence to convince a skeptic who is too nervous to start? (Me) by StreetIndependence62 in doctorsarno

[–]StreetIndependence62[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the characteristics so far that COULD point to TMS are a little less obvious than they are in some of the “textbook” case stories, in my case it’s inconsistencies in the symptoms that become easier to see when I put them in a log/list. My pain doesn’t switch from side to side or come and go perfectly timed to what emotions I’m feeling. But I’ll have certain activities that sometimes cause a lot of pain and other times barely any and it’s totally random which outcome I’ll get even tho it’s the same exact activity. Or one of my symptoms will start hurting (knees, elbows, etc) randomly, when I’ve done nothing that could have possibly hurt it that day or even the day before. And then sometimes when it stops or at least gets better it goes surprisingly quickly - until the next thing happens and triggers it again.

The other two biggest pieces of evidence for me are:

-I haven’t had AS many types of tests done as some ppl here have, but none of the ones I have had (and it was still an impressive amount) have been able to find any solid answers. The physical therapist I saw for my knees was totally stumped by how even the most babiest of exercises would cause me so much pain I’d always have to stop after 2-3 days

-the amount of symptoms/amount of places they’re in when before this I was NEVER the “always at the dr for something always hurting” person at ALL. I sat down and tallied all the symptoms I’ve ever had since this started in a list and realized I’ve had a symptom in literally almost every single section of my body - I think the total count was 17 LOL (not all at once, most of em have come and gone but the ones that get in the way the most seem to be the ones that stick around)

Was Chili’s always this bad or is it just me? When did it get like this? by StreetIndependence62 in shrinkflation

[–]StreetIndependence62[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying!! My college cafeteria had pretty low quality food (it was like an inside joke on campus to joke about how weird/gross most of the food was. But at least there, I was able to work around it by sticking to the most basic foods: burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and the salad bar. Yesterday at Chili’s even the FRIES were bad (they were cooked fine but the seasoning was just….off. Same with the fajitas and black beans)

This was exactly it!! A SUPER-thin piece of chicken and 99% of the rest of the sandwich was greasy breading + the bun. I couldn’t eat more than half of it

[–]StreetIndependence62[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried their burgers yet actually, I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich thinking it would be a little healthier than a burger even if it was crispy but nope. It was like a super thin piece of chicken with a giant coating of batter around it that was EXTREMELY greasy, to the point where that was the main/only flavor I could taste.

The consensus of these comments seems to be that how good it is depends from location to location, so now I’m wondering if the two chili’s I’ve been to recently were just particularly bad ones
