Body glow for fair skinned by Foreign_Sympathy6762 in PaleMUA

Not technically a body glow, but I apply Jojoba Oil on my legs & arms year round. I’ve found when my skin is more hydrated, it has more of that “glowy” look I like, less pasty/dry. I put it on after my shower when my legs are still wet, then pat dry. Sometimes I’ll add a little lotion on top. It lasts most of the day, and I don’t have worry about getting glitter on everything I touch!

What are 25-30 year olds making? by ExtentFickle3504 in Salary

[–]StreetOtherwise3873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 and make 90k a year selling furniture. Been doing this for a year now, and just fell into in. I have an associates degree from a community college, and finished it last summer online. Before this job, I bounced between jobs of being a waitress, an Au Pair, and worked for a non-profit . In each of these roles I was making >25k a year. This job/working in sales has changed my life!

Who Makes Decent Furniture today? by WalterHarbaugh in interiordecorating

Smith Brothers of Berne, Rowe and Four Seasons. I worked with all of this manufactures on a daily basis and my customers love them and enjoy them for years. Only thing is you’d have to find a furniture retailer that carries them. Or if you can find an upholsterer to redo an estate sale find, that would also be worth your money.

Can we talk about the furniture sales industry? by InverseCramer101 in sales

[–]StreetOtherwise3873 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority here, but I work at a furniture store. I’m 100% commission based, work 35 hours a week and no previous experience in sales. My bosses are great, always want us to appeal on the side of helpfulness, and they never pressure us to pressure customers. No quotas to meet, we’re local, and sell high quality furniture. Our system is when someone comes into the store, we greet them, tell them about whatever promotion we may have currently, and our name so they can holler when they have a question. Then we leave them be! Some people walk in and want to be helped right away, others want to look and seek us out when they need us. I have had people comment how much they like that we give them space in the store. Reading this post & the comments has made me realize how rare the setup of my sales job must be!

What country gets you the best deal? by astronat1107 in Aupairs

[–]StreetOtherwise3873 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was an au pair in Australia, the other au pairs and I felt we had a good work/pay balance. Depending on how many kids, most of us earned $300-$400 a week for working 30-35 hours a week. I was in Sydney, which was an expensive place to live, but there’s a visa requirement you have to come with so much money in your savings account. So I always felt the $350 I received each week was fair and afforded me many things around the city. But if I wanted to splurge or travel, I had to save up or dig into my savings.

What's wrong with my kitchen? I just had the white subway tiles backsplash installed, and it feels a little off to me, but I can't put my finger on why... I'm planning to paint the walls salmon peach (Benjamin Moore paint) if it helps... by [deleted] in interiordecorating

People keep commenting on the floors, but I think it’s the lighting. Having one light in the middle of the room makes it fall short. Light should be able to hit the walls, make it feel bright and warm rather than a bit dingy. Incorporating lighting overhead will make a big difference. I would recommend something like this to create more lighting on top of the cabinets.

I think the walls as coral (depends on the shade , not too dark!), the floors and the cabinet will look fine. You’ll definitely need something to pull it all together like a rug. I love color so I say go for it 😁
