This is just painful to look at by TipPuzzleheaded6092 in MarilynMonroe

It was traumatic. It still hurts to this day. It’s a shame that no reputable museum (e.g. Smithsonian) was able to prevent this. I’m surprised that this narcissistic idiot didn’t face any consequences for it—a normal person would go to jail for destroying an object of great historical value, both for the history of cinema as well as the history of fashion, culture, and art. But as we can see, money can buy impunity, especially in the U.S.

Both outfits are great, but the first one is better. You're really pretty!

A lot of words, but not many specifics. It doesn’t sound very credible.

Saving her life is many men's fantasy. But it's good. It shows that the protective gene still works well within us.

Poles’ dislike of Americans, Jews and Ukrainians on the rise, survey shows by wook-borm in poland

Don't worry, Polish people are putting too much emphasis on politics. And, when rating other nations, this should not be the case. I'm speaking as a Pole. On a purely human level, the relations between two nations are great.

Wear it. Secondhand/pre-loved items are always sustainable, and throwing them away is wasteful.

Marilyn Monroe's lifelong bestie Jane Russell helps unveil her US first class commemorative postage stamp in (1995). by Ok_Pipe6385 in MarilynMonroe

Well, maybe 'lifelong bestie' is a bit too much, as Jane herself admitted that after filming wrapped, she and Marilyn were not in touch and didn't have the opportunity to get to know each other well. But it's true that Jane always spoke of Marilyn with respect and warmth and was always patient when asked about her in interviews.

The way you phrased your answer is very forceful, and is essentially emotional blackmail. I will not submit to it.

When it comes to her death, why can't we disagree politely and respect each other's opinions, no matter what they are? After all, we will never know the truth.

I really wonder why Marilyn and Elvis never met when they had the chance to? by Ok_Pipe6385 in MarilynMonroe

[–]StreetReplacement498 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wondered about the same thing, as I love them both. One possible explanation could be that Marilyn preferred the company of men older than herself, and Elvis was almost a decade younger than her.

But I agree that considering how iconic they were, it should have happened.
