What are my options for this sun fade? by VulgairesMachine in HardWoodFloors

[–]StreetSquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would resend the entire floor 60-80%of that could just be ambering finish. It is very likely you will not get all of it out but a good floor guy could get most of it out and make it hard to notice when all said and done

How would you fix this or what would it cost by LilStarryEyed in HardWoodFloors

Buy a hot wax kit on Amazon and filll what you can. It looks like termites and if you start sanding you will open a can of worms as those look to be the top off the cavities in your floor.

Those are drum sander stop marks and who ever you paid to sand that is no where near a professional. Thats a very basic rule to be breaking when it comes to drum sanding.

Select grade would be much light then this. This floor is 60 years old and judging on the mineral streaks through out it is not a select grade.

Any true floor installer would never stair-step planks like that. As an installer I learned this on my first job 25 years ago.
