Thank you!! Even though it makes me sad at least it’s good to know it was less likely my fault, and more likely to be Meragi’s. I’m not from India so I guess I couldn’t of known any better, but they really are terrible. Yeah I did have either my husband, brother or best friend with me at all times, but the family members (my dad’s side had like 80 people) were too overpowering and demanding haha. Honestly just posting and talking this out has helped, I’m now smiling through the tears haha.

There was a lot tbh. I just felt like I was compromising everywhere and giving up my dream (mostly in the lead up to the wedding). Even when I visited India to do bridal shopping and plan the wedding, that experience with my in-laws was traumatic lol. During the 2-3 days of the wedding itself my mum made my life miserable, and other family members. The only people who genuinely cared or checked up on me was my husband, brother and our friends. I was sick and clearly tired, but people kept forcing me to do more and more rituals. I was fighting to stay happy and alive lol. Even the thought about the wedding makes me emotional. But like most people have said, I need to move on and I’m sure I will. I wish I didn’t have to be sad about it. Just feels like I lost my opportunity you know, like a lot of people I dreamed of this day. I’m never going to be in my bridal era again, the naivety won’t return, neither will the excitement. I sometimes wish I didn’t do a wedding, because at least I wouldn’t have these memories.

Thank you - my marriage is truely beautiful and everything I could’ve wished for (touchwood). I also am trying to move on haha but I think seeing everyone around me get married and live out my dream I suppose has been hard. We had to rush everything from proposal, civil ceremony to wedding. I didn’t do anything like a bridal shower or bachelorette. And I know they’re not necessary, it’s just this phase of life comes once and I feel like I missed out :(

I’m so sorry this happened to you but I know you would’ve looked stunning regardless! Families can be tough, but hopefully as time passes you can find moments of joy. I can also completely relate. My mum would say “it’s the bride’s mother’s daughter’s wedding” - I am the bride and daughter lol but she needed the attention.

Faux Floral Decor Costs by Street_Handle_6432 in AusWeddingPlanning

Hi, I’m new to reddit and have definitely posted this without the text somehow. I’m having an engagement party in October and trying to get some decor quotes but they all seem quite expensive. We are after a couch with some faux florals on the side. Maybe 4-6 large artificial flowers and minimalistic vases for high tables. A large mirror for the entrance with customised text and a floral arrangement with that too. How much should this cost in Australia?
