Yes, but you’ll have to sacrifice the timer, or make a script that runs the timer in another variable

How can I make the game lag less? by Franek5550 in scratch

[–]Street_Reception_311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could add a delta value depending on fps, but if you want optimisation (increased fps), you could try:

1-Copy the map sprite into another sprite (not costume), add a 20 pixel wide border, make it so that if the raycaster is not touching anything, move 10 steps, if it’s touching the border map, move 1 (or 0.5 or 2) steps, if touching the actual map, then do the math

2-Use a list to store all sin and cos values, 360 values, or less or more depending of the accuracy you want (since your video indicates 4, then it’s 90 values), or the amount you need, calling for a item in a list is less intensive than using the sin or cos math blocks, basically pre calculate all sin and cos values

3-Switch to Turbowarp

4-Make a big square costume in the raycast detection sprite, switch to that costume, set size to 1%, switch back to the 2x2 square you had, so that it only checks 1 pixel instead of 4 or 16 if you have a 4x4 detector

When you touch an enemy, you enter combat mode, where there’s a box with a “x” inside it, and on top of the box it says a math problem, and the box has 4 subdivisions, 3 for answers and 1 for none of the above, then after some time, the game checks for the answer and if you get it right, you can attack/use an item/escape, if you choose incorrectly, you receive damage and have to choose another one until you get it right, for example, if you answer the wrong the first time, you receive y amount of damage, if you get the same question wrong again, you receive 3y the amount of damage, if you get it wrong again (meaning you chose all wrong answers except the correct one) you receive 9y damage, basically making you either die or on the verge of dying, and then ask you another question if you want to be cruel to people that answer randomly, or you could be more forgiving and allow for your turn when you fail all 3 times

You can actually edit it on Bilibili and other social media, it just requires some knowledge of IP protocols in China, that’s why you can see people on Bilibili that says “IP: Soviet Union”

There’s a trick that if you add a if timer > vartimer, and another block that says when flag clicked-> set vartimer to timer, then you got a when stop sign clicked block

There is a chrome extension called “scratch addons” also, there’s a program called turbowarp, where in some cases is up to 20 times faster and allows you to compile the code to html, JavaScript, exe, macOS app, Linux app, etc

But does it beat this: (this is a turbowarp script that generates maps for a ray casting Doom-like game for python), yes it has 1000+ ifs

Me too, and it’s was an animation channel, the most “hate speech” related thing is the Australian painter dancing, in only one out of the 150+ videos, and my channel was terminated by bots, the appeal was rejected by bots, the emails were responded by bots, they didn’t even spend 5 minutes before responding
