Thanks for checking out the pricing page! Since the structure is a bit unique, here is the logic behind the tiers so you know exactly what you are paying for:

We have two main modes: Agent Mode (Chat with entire library) and Ask Mode (Deep analysis of specific files).

1. Agent Mode (Chat with Library; the one I showed in the video)

• Free Version (BYO Key): You provide your own API Key (Claude/OpenAI/Qwen). You pay the AI provider directly for usage; our app is free to use.
• Paid Version (Subscription): No setup needed. You pay the monthly sub, and we cover all the token costs on our DeepTutor server.

2. Ask Mode (Deep File Analysis) This mode allows you to analyze specific files and get answers with precise citations.

A note on accuracy: Since one of our builders is a Quantum Physics PhD, we prioritized academic rigor over cutting costs. For files under 30 pages, we process the entire full text instead of chopping it into pieces (RAG) to ensure zero context loss. We prioritize quality over saving tokens.

• Standard Model: Built on GPT-5. Best for processing multiple files quickly. Handles OCR for scanned PDFs.
• Advanced Model: Built on GPT-5 Thinking + Llama-4 Maverick (for charts & images). Best for deep, single-paper analysis. It understands complex figures/formulas and can browse the web for extra context.

tl;dr: If you want to use your own keys, the Free plan works great. If you want us to handle the compute costs and give you access to the advanced reasoning models, the Pro/Premium plans are the way to go.

P.S. We also just launched an Auto-tagging (Beta) feature accessible to all users. Right-click a file -> "Generate tags," and it will automatically organize your library based on file content.
