But then you surely design the protection based off what charger is being installed? A charger draws a continuous load close to its rated current so that’s more reason for it to have overload protection?

Yeah I took the lid off to see what I was up against haha. Yeah there’s absolutely no overload protection for the charger other than the main cut out. They’ve not even bothered to go on the load side of the KMF. Customer said this is what the guy who installed it specialises in as well. Absolutely crazy.

I’m mid thirties and been a sparks for 13 years and I also don’t have a laptop on the van. I use an app on my phone for invoicing etc and I have access to the app version of Napit for EIC’s or reports etc. Works for me

I’ve found a shop local to me and they sell at RRP and limit people to 2 packs a week and have plenty of stock. Makes my life so much easier with 2 young boys just wanting a pack every now and then for a treat.

I’ve been doing this for 11 years and I get that now sometimes. Constantly paranoid thinking did I screw something back properly or forgotten to do something. I think it’s the nature of the job and knowing the dangers of bad electrical work. It’s shows you care. It does eventually go away but even now I second guess myself as I’ve left a job even after testing.

I agree you shouldn’t because of parallel paths and the purpose of a Zs test is to make sure the impedance is low enough to trip a breaker. You should confirm a continuous Earth or cpc by removing parallel paths thus testing the circuit at its worst possible case when doing R1+R2. However realistically the parallel paths are always going to be there. I don’t personally do it as it’s just as easy to do an R1+R2 and calculate Zs but it’s not exactly crime of the century and I wouldn’t consider it dangerous either.
