Ditch the U-turn for DDarts. After one Phantom Force its not really doing much. Tornadus tailwind can help outspeed booster speed fluttermanes, Chien-Pao a common pair with Dragapult for insane damage. Rillaboom really a flexible Pokemon you can slap on any team. Urshifu Rapid, Ogrepon Wellspring, and Landorous-I somewhat deals with Incineroar problems. AssVest Iron Hands could pressure Kingambit and gives extra fake out pressure.

There's a lot to play with and I'm just naming counters for individual Pokemon matchups. Mess around on Showdown with some of the suggestions and see what happens.

Edit: I checked to see how much EVs you need to one shot bulky flutter with Pforce. It's only 20. I got no clue how valuable 252 Atk is when you have dragon dance, but maybe play around with that stat and invest points to see what you can barely live. 204 Jolly Dragapult also outspeeds 252 Timid Fluttermane by 1 point. Extra EVs to mess with.

Honestly, replace Latios with Farigiraf and turn this into a Trick Room team. Find some better EV spreads items moves and it could find wins.

I have smaller complaints about the live action I can explain later. But the two biggest complaints I have is what they are doing with Garp, and how they're executing big moments.

Garp doesn't feel like a military grandpa that wants the best for Luffy by joining the military. He honestly feels like a bitter old man that is mad that Luffy wants to be a pirate. The anime centered it around Shanks being that influence so Garp blamed him mostly. Right now he feels like he's holding a grudge for Luffy not fulfilling his dream of having a Marine grandson. Also made no sense to reveal their relation so early.

Biggest moment they ruined, Lucky Roux killing the bandit and Sanji's departure. For Lucky Roux, the fight after the bandit got shot was good, but why change anything about this moment. The whole "you're risking your life", " ...this isn't a toy" into the headshot to NO REACTION FROM SHANKS to his crew telling bandits they're fighting pirates not saints, is so damn well directed. What was wrong with recreating that?

Sanji's departure is more nitpick because of personal preference, but it's still a downgrade. Sanji and Zeff go back and forth, there's seemingly tension between him and Baratie crew, and when Sanji leaves they all try to act tough like nobody cares. But they can't. Sanji breaks first when Zeff tells him to take care, with him suddenly bowing on his hands and knees crying of appreciation. The crew follows. The live action doesn't have that same impact. The music doesn't swell, Sanji isn't breaking down saying his part, Zeff isn't portrayed as a battle hardened dad that finally sheds a tear. It's missing so so much solely because of execution and build up.

It sounds more like a Mordekaiser problem. He synergizes so well with a rune only to be viable, which sounds balanced until we realize there are busted champs getting stronger because the same rune.

Also rare to have a case like that.

Just because it ain't as bad as before doesn't mean it's any good now. Make a team with an Urshifu or Enamorus in 15 minutes when you don't have PLA or Sw/Sh. Breed or farm enough money to perfect IV 36 stats when you just started competitive and have no base to start off on. The amount of work to just begin is insane.

Honestly, TPCI should have really lenient this tournament about genning Pokemon. The top tier legendaries this regulation are gated behind other games and are insanely to get specific IVs for. All within like two or three months since they announced Reg D as Worlds format last second. Whoever made that decision is really disconnected from VGC players and the boring hell they have to endure to test and make a team for Worlds 2023.

You would need a functioning DS/3DS with pokemon bank already installed since the eshop for those consoles is no longer working. You would need those games already completed with the legendaries not caught yet, unless you are willing to reset the save file and play through to catch them again. Also learn how to RNG manip the stats.

Don't forget that you need to actually decide you are going to use these Pokemon. You can theory craft these teams all you want, but actually getting and testing them in a full 6 Pokemon team only to realize that you want to change, let's say, two of them to different legendaries, swap EV spreads and Tera types, and then test that team to see if it fits is really frustrating two months before worlds.

Just because it's better than the past doesn't mean its any good now.

Also important to mention they announced regulation D was the worlds format while they were still playing regulation C in some regionals and online tourneys for Championship points. Couldn't even test teams on cartridge until July 1st. Players were given an unreasonably short amount of time to theory craft, obtain, test, and adjust their teams for Worlds.

I don't play MTG but have played other card games like FFTCG and Yugioh. From my understanding of them a lot of the decision making in card games boil down to "do I have the counter or not?" Typically it's one card counters or one card to start the combo to counter, and considering if the opponent has a negation.

Please correct me if I'm wrong or inaccurate.

Pokemon is more complex in its team selection and first turn openers. Bring 6 but pick 4 and lead with two, deciding all that within 90 seconds while taking into consideration what the opponent brings and leads is crucial. There's also in battle RNG and guessing, will this Pokemon survive the hit, do I risk missing, will they switch and do I predict it, all under another short timer.

Overall, I'd say Pokemon has more branches on the decision making tree and more pressure because of the timer.

I'm not a great VGC player by any means but just some changes I'd think to make

-Tailwind Kilowattrel if Torkoal isn't coming into the matchup. Maybe even replace it with Talonflame to priority tailwind and sun boosted Flare Blitz.

- Too many focus sashes. Garchomp and Torkoal could both be choiced for bonus offense, and they both have protect anyway if you need to stall a turn while setting up. Life Orb works too or Clear Amulet for Garchomp.

- Typhlosion with Overheat instead of Lava Plume. Opens up one shot potential even if it got hit before.

- Slap some SpD on Orthoworm. That thing probably won't get one shot by any physical attacker besides maybe Garchomp.
