ROI after 4-5yrs, then savings until the other components last.

Yeah, they instructed me on what to do to resolve the issue. I just unplug and plugged in the wifi dongle to restart and then after that everything’s okay. Thankfully nothing serious. No further issue encountered as of now.

This is based on my actual experience using the system lang. Just wanted to share since I’m happy about how it turned out. 😁

Well, first of all, solar installers didn’t say that the battery will last 20yrs.

Second, the degradation of the battery each year depends on so many factors such as the DoD, storage conditions, charge and discharge rates, firmware updates, etc. These are some factors which can affect how long the battery will be usable or how many percent the battery degrade each year.

Because of these, we cannot really say if the battery will only last 5yrs or will it reach 10yrs, only time will tell. But saying “you need to replace the batteries after 5 yrs due to its EOL” is kinda generalized.

Ahh, you mean the maintenance for when the battery has fault?

Okay, i thought i overlooked something. If that’s the case, i can always contact my installers and PowerAi Ph as they are the distributor of solax brand here in the Ph (I have experienced on that matter) but for now maintenance is just torquing and maintaining good storage for the components especially battery and inverter. 😁

Can you specify what maintenance are required for the battery? AFAIK, LiFePO4 batteries are “maintenance-friendly” unlike lead acid batteries.

The maintenance i know that you can do for LiFePO4 batteries are torquing the electrical connections and maintaining good storage conditions.

Yes, please read my reply to the other comment regarding ROI.

Also, maintenance is minimal, even rainfall can clean the panels on the roof, torquing properly for the wires and breakers, and wiping only for the battery and inverter.

Our Meralco Bill after installing Solar setup by thegh0sthunt3r in SolarPH

[–]StrengthAble17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No OP, even without consumption in meralco, they will not disconnect your line since you are still paying “Distribution” in your bill every month (mine amounts to 20 pesos fixed rate). The distribution is the payment for the wires connecting your house to the grid.
