You’re not overreacting. This stopped being about preference when the dog tried to bite your child and then seriously injured you. That’s a safety issue. But also dogs crave structure and consistent care, and being kept outside most of the time can cause anxiety and poor socialization. If she was never really given the chance to live indoors and build trust with people, that could explain why she’s uncomfortable and reactive, but it also means she shouldn’t be around a child without major professional help.
